Hi all, again. How's everybodies application going? I'm pleased to say that my identity has been confirmed and my opening deposit (£100) is in place. I am racing against the clock now to transfer my money from one account to my current account in order to send it off to Yorkshire before the account closes and does not accept any more deposits!
If I use CHAPS then it costs £20 to get it into Natwest and then probably more to get it into Yorkshire. Alteranatively I take a risk and let the regular time period to transfer money take its course but risk missing the boat with it.

Yesterday I went to a local branch and they confirmed my identity and accepted a cheque (from my dad) for £2,500 as my initial deposit.I'm waiting on a cheque from somewhere else, so he gave me an advance as i can't find my cheque book.
They said to ring the head office tomorrow, as the head office would have my details today. I'll phone them tomorrow and see if its set up and they arrange a standing order for another £3,000.MFW 2015 - #88 £3,345 / £3,500

Once you have it in your current account can you not pay into the bond by debit card? I'm fairly certain YBS do that - well did when I opened my 6.5% (yeh I know 6.5% but that was July08 until July 09).Hi all, again. How's everybodies application going? Your initial deposit can be made by debit card (providing your identity can be verified electronically during the online application process).
Additional deposits must be transfers, either from another bank or building society account, e.g. by debit card, standing order, or another account held with the Yorkshire."
The way I read that is isnt possible to make a deposit from another bank via debit card?
EDIT: Or does that mean we can use a debit card?...... I guess we would have to phone YBS to do this?!0 -
Oh I took a gamble and have setup a CHAPS for tomorrow costing £20. That will mean I can get the bulk of the money in my current account tomorrow and immediately setup a transfer into YBS which will take several days.

I think it does mean you can use a debit card for subsequent payments in - according to this link. You can certainly can with their Internet Saver, online too."

So would that mean a simple phonecall tomorrow (when my funds are in place) to YBS asking to do a card payment over the phone?0 -
You can make a Direct Debit opening payment straight into the YBS Ebond from any non YBS current account, you get this option when you open the YBS bond online. I DD'd from First Direct and it was showing in the YBS EBond 24 hours later.0

I have made my initial deposit. I want to get the bulk of the money in there ASAP before they withdraw it now.0
