I got it as well, but before the rate dropped las week, so still at 5.5%

I like to spread the endings of my fixed rates, as if I need the money for an emergency it will reduce the chance of having to break into a period.
End of June looks good, heheBeing brave is going after your dreams head on0 -
I've just applied for this, and I also need to provide them with copies of my identity.
A friend at work is a qualified accountant so hopefully he can can be the person to sign my documents. There is also a YBS branch near me so that shouldn't be a problem either.
At the moment I have £3000 I can stick in immediately. But within the next week or so (probably after Xmas now), I should be recieving a cheque for another £3000. In January a regular saver with £3000 + interest matues which I want to stick in there as well.
Am I likely to miss the boat with the cut off point for these second two payments?MFW 2015 - #88 £3,345 / £3,500
MFW 2014 £2,990,MFW 2013 £7,905, MFW 2012 £12,216
Opening Mortgage Balance (15th July 2010): £200,999
Current Mortgage Balance(2nd July 2015): £150,999

If you're going to the branch you don't need the documents certified. That's what I did, just go there with your driver's licence or passport and they copy it right there and all's done!
The certification would only be needed if you were sending copies through the post (and then yes, I did the same for icesave, back in the day, asking my qualified accountant colleague).Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -

True, however not if it is listed in the branch finder (online) as an 'agency'. The lady in the YBS agency (sharing office space with a local estate agency) could only photocopy and certify. I still had to send it off by post as she appeared to have no access to the central computer system.0 -
does anyone know where I can get on their internet site another one of the veritication of identity form that was partially pre printed with the account number. I've messed the 1st one up and forgot to take a copy myself0

My local is a branch is a normal branch and not an agency so that should be okay.
One more thing, I'll be partly funding it with a regular saver I've previously had. The cheque from that hasn't arrived yet, but my dad has said he will give me a cheque for the money so I can fund it before the cut off point.
Will I be able to partly fund it with a cheque from dad or does it have to be a cheque from me?
Also who would he write it out to me or to YBS?MFW 2015 - #88 £3,345 / £3,500

I'm not sure, but when I opened mine I wrote the cheque to "YBS, account xxxx" (it can also be "YBS, your name"), so I don't think it matters if the cheque comes from someone else.Being brave is going after your dreams head on0

Ignoring any issues with redemption dates, presumably fixed rate policies will generally be set up so that each tranche paid in - where this is allowed -receives the prevailing fixed rate at that date (i.e. as opposed to setting up a policy and then receiving the rate at the point of inception for any tranches you pay in for the next year, say) ?? :rolleyes:0

Are you sure you didn't get it via email as well?
I'm pretty sure I printed mine the day after opening it, as I was in a laptop with no printer when I opened it.
If not, just go to a branch with one doc from the list of acceptable id
http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/acceptable_identity.jsp
and explain the situation, I'm sure they'll do that for you.Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -
i've adjusted the first form now. it can still be read, so hopefully it should be accepted0
