I have to write cards for inlaw family to deliver tomorrow otherwise its wine o clock time very shortly.0 -
My get up and go has gone. I've made the pastry - just cooling so need to finishing preping dinner and bung it in the AGA. I was going to do a pile of ironing tonight but I'm going to soak my feet and choose puds for Christmas instead - I'll iron tomorrow.
Must get OH to make some of the beds or I'll forget and I hate that. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Dusty - maybe your get up and go has run off with mine! The toast and pate and tea didn't work particularly so I'm now trying the medicinal G&T
Has anyone seen Pink Fairy today? Hope everything's OK her end
Well pheasant phling (just flung stuff in to make a sauce - tomatoes, wine, garlic, onion etc.) is in the oven on a lowish number to gently cook all by itself. Did an emergency baked potato for DS. Although he told me he was going out, he didn't say he wanted feeding first!
Seems to be nowt on TV so I don't quite know what to do now - I'm determined not to nod off!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Well the kitchen worktops and floor got cleaned. Then started on study. Trouble is it will look worse before it looks better. There is no point in keeping magazine cuttings if you never look at them
However about to stop for Strictly :T0 -
And I'm still sat here....half a book read. Children back. Hubby making dinner. Ho hum:rotfl: xx0

Soappie, thank you so much, all this extra effort too, I feel rather guilty you dashing all over the place to do something special for my 2 boys.
mumoffour77 sounds like you had a lovely evening
Mudbath, use them, swallow the being silly, what would you say if it was one of the rest of us? You'd be telling us don't over do it wouldn't you. Sure the kids will love decorating it too.
froddy, yes I've seen it mentioned about the gluten. My DSs have been on GF/CF diets but didn't see much difference, if any, apart from an even further restricted diet. Suppose that might be one reason why he doesn't eat it (but I have told him before when he kept licking it it would make his bum stick together!), however DS2, he's a gluten junky, so possibly explains him too. DS1 was good, used to tell on the other kids for eating it, they only hid from the staff when they did it (if they hid at all) there was one day his LSA said 8 were emptied, that's more than one each! Hope you have a great evening.
rach I joined you for the HHC 2 minutes late, didn't post as it was a quick dash, felt guilty for doing nothing. Thanks for the advice with the +box, I have used the keep this time to see if we could stop stuff disappearing, I'm usually quite good at checking before I record something but the kids are little devils for recording stuff, they know how to use it better than we do, so it'll be when they just record loads most likely.
hex last year my butcher forgot I wanted a crown instead (only charged me for small crown and was all boxed when I got there so didn't look), first time I'd done turkey alone so eeked!!! I removed the legs myself (after finding the instructions online) Removed the leg meat (again online guide to help) in one piece, flattened, put stuffing in then rolled it, tied in place with string then covered it in tinfoil like a cracker then cooked it in the oven, came in ever so handy sliced up for sandwich meat and saved space in the tin!
I did quite well cleaning up after myself in the kitchen after dinner, so don't need to blitz it again tonight. I love batch cooking, lasagne was ones I'd made weeks ago then frozen in some foil trays, effortless homemade yumminess!
Wohooooo result!!!! DPs taking the boys to his Mam's on Xmas eve while I am outLess dashing about for me on christmas day (plus I didn't really want to go there if not necessary as it's always just an awful awkward feeling) I do need to check through what presents I have tonight for other family, one of DPs presents hasn't arrived yet, book people order has so will need to sort that, I need to make sure we have EVERYTHING (I can think off the top of my head something that is missing) then do a list for Metro Centre on Monday, want to go straight in, get what I need, straight back out, no faffing about!
List for me for this evening (well some of it)
Write cards for neighbours (thanks for the reminder)
Remove kids dumped plates (or tell them to remove them)
Put kids games/dvds away (pattern here)
Remove DPs can/mugs collection
Clean ledges
Put cards on ledges and holder
Sort through some presents, assess what I still need
See if I can find the cellotape I know I have bought.....
Put some of the laundry pile awayOne day I might be more organised...........
