I have done something rather silly (again).

I admired the turkey crowns in Morrisons, then realised for the same money I could have a 9kg frozen turkey. Seemed daft so I lugged the monster home. It occurred to me at 3am this morning that the door mounted roasting tray of my oven will not support the weight, and I have just checked and it won't fit my roasting trays either so I can't put it in the (narrow) side oven. Need to find the Rangemaster instructions and see how to take the door mount off, and need to buy a roasting tin from somewhere pronto - and I thought I had finished my shopping. I know this is nothing to your concerns Pigpen but I am fretting now :o .

Valli - we went to Tissington, lovely and empty although rather damp. Used to walk a lot round Ashbourne and Bakewell until the boys got to big to be in a pram but too small to walk any distance. Had to go through the ford several times as you would expect. DH [strike]proposed[/strike] told me I was going to marry him in Fenny Bentley so quite fond of the whole area. Leics is nice but sadly lacking in any decent hills.

We have just made some buns so need to S&S the kitchen, and empty and fill the DW. Trying to clear a room a day downstairs so will be picking something simple for tonight.

Too choosey, kassey - me too.

    Soappie - good luck!

moam - thanks for the card

johanne - hope the water is sorted (and that pumpkin slept)

pigpen - has DS read the Magician (and its sequels) by Raymond E. Feist? Really good fantasy / sci-fi with parallel worlds, trolls, elves, ogres, etc. as well as humans!

    Waves at a damp Hex

Well if you're ever passing and fancy a cuppa drop in - I'm not far off the Matlock Road. Don't expect matched mugs though - my 'ocd' is definitely selective and clearly, when I think about it, laundry based.

  • jjef - no problems with the leccy and none of my mob had any probs either. Are your in laws near the city centre or Liberton? Maybe it was connected with the fires?

jjef/G&B/toots/anyone else in Edinburgh area - I've got a code for £15 tickets for Sunshine on Leith at the Festival Theatre. Its any night or matinee including Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and Hogmanay. I've never since tickets discounted on those days. The credit crunch must be biting! Let me know if you are interested.

Right...just finishing my coffee and then I'll get back to work. Anyone up for a HHC?

and I have seen others taste/eat it too.. TBH it does NOT look unpleasant...

I MUST GO SHOPPING - small people feed the cat way too often (not that she's overweight or anything) and she is so fussy she will only eat pouches at the moment - she won't even eat dried anymore...and no-one told me it was all gone. They will put more down when she has not eaten all the previous. I bin it and leave no food down for a while..think she's gone to hide somewhere warm though...

Had a lovely time in the garden - Serena and Hex will understand, tidying, sweeping, touch of weeding - so lovely to be outside.

Need to get the washing in and put the stars round the front door then to the kitchen for a quick tidy up and make pastry and cookies.

JJef great news on the bike riding such a wonderful moment.
