  • I shop at Sainsburys for the staff discount and the basics range. And somtimes reduced offers for staff only. I also go to Aldi for bread, cheaper and nicer. I also like a lot of thier range. I went this week for some insperation and got a lot of stuff that sainsburys dont have. I also go to the farm shop for veg, sack of potatoes and free range eggs and local milk which is cheaper than anywhere else. Though we do find it a bit difficult to believe that the cows all have names so you know which one your milk has come from.lol. When I see a bargain on here in Morrisons I go there as well. In fact out of the supermarkets Morrisons is my favoucrite and if it wasn't for the staff discount that is where I would do my shopping.

  • Switch between a lot of them, but mainly Sainsburys. Co-Op for in-between shops as its the only one in the village.

I do an online monthly shop of tins and packets at Asda (according to mysupermarket.com, it's by far the cheaper for what I buy) and then a weekly shop at the local market for fresh stuff. Along with meal planning/only buying what I need, this has saved us about 25% on our weekly shop, so worth the extra planning effort

Do online shopping at Ocado (wish there was an actual waitrose store near me - up north!!). They price match tesco on branded products and I think their own brand products are great. There are sometimes random odd things that seem extortianate ( eg - I think 2 limes may have cost about £0.80 a while ago!!) , but on the whole I think the price is good, especially where we have a £10, £15, or 10% voucher which they often send!!

Get "bits" from tesco, asda or co op when needed and meat from butcher.
  • Morrisons because it's nearest, get petrol from there as well because I've found it's always the cheapest option... there's also a Tesco Metro nearby which I pop into occasionally. We have an Aldi as well but I've only been in it 2 or 3 times! I go into Asda about twice a month but it's a half-hour drive so I'll only go if I'm nearby already. xxx

I shop around, depends where the offers are, there are times that waitrose have been cheaper for me!!

I never will shop at Asda again, this is not because I saw a rat (which I did and screamed and the staff told me I must be seeing things !!!) but because an over zelous security guard said I had been shop lifting- which I had not! I was so shocked! he called the police....I was so scared I was shakeing, he had no proof- it turns out "a druggie" (his words) had walked in the same time as me, he thought we were together (I should add here I was very ill with anorexia here) and she had shop lifted, he saiod to the police I was an accomplice.
I also overheard the secirity guard boasting to his mate that he had "£50 in next weeks pay packet" as he got a "double wammy talking to the police now". I was taken to a police station, had to wait in a cell, whilst I cried for hours on end- literally did not stop for hours, and then the police told me I could go home, they had nothing in the security tapes that was incriminating.
I should have taken them to court or something for makeing things up about me, but the whole thing was so scary and this security guard was so scarily money hungry, I have decided instead to never ever ever go into another Asda store again. I am literally too scared- I shop at Tescos down the road from Asda instead.
  • I shop at Waitrose (my nearest) for everyday shopping, sometimes will go to Sainsburys if Waitrose is shut (why they shut so early at 9 pm?)

We did a online compare between Sainsburys and Waitrose at work, and Waitrose is cheaper in most thing we searched, the major price difference is Sainsburys will sell budget cr*p, but Waitrose won't.
