If you're a real skinflint there is some hideous sounding place called Aldi.
:rotfl: :rotfl: This did make me laugh. I'm waiting for my local one to open (it should have opened last new year but there was asbestos in the building  ) I'll have a nosey round, rude not to.
Anyway, to answer your question, I shop at Waitrose and Sainsbury and then various organic stores for certain items
I always shop at Sainsburys as well. Always have, I think as my Mum did/still does. And I do find them better for customer service and most prices. I sometimes stray to Co-Op or Tesco Express but only as I live too far away from Sains to just "pop in".

Can't stand Asda though, my local one has all the "charming" people in it ifkwim? ;) And it's not any cheaper.

    Cheap basics from Tesco online.
I won't buy meat, or fruit and veg, there.
(The meat is terrible, full of water.)
    I use small local butcher/greengrocer, and/or the Co-Op

There is an option for other so if you do your grocery shopping in Fortnum and Masons or Harvey Niks.... tick that box:rolleyes:

I shop at the Tesco online supermarket for the dry/heavy/non-perishable things (or the others depending on offers and vouchers) and go to Sainsbury for the fresh. Occasionally Waitrose when I'm feeling flush! Sainsbury fish is surprisingly good and Waitrose fresh veg can be surprisingly ordinary.

    Different shops for different things.

I go to M&S and get anything I fancy thats on "offer" & my mince & sausages & crinkle cut crisps & horseradish sauce & the oakham chicken.

When I'm passing Waitrose (my nearest shop) I will pop in & get their own brand low salt/fat sliced ham (its my fav) & their baby bottom butter (use for hands & skin - not face) & their organic body lotion & always get some bread when I'm in there. Like the cooked chickens from here & the select chicken breast fillets.

When I go in Tesco I always get their own bread BIS soda/wheaten bread & other bits & bobs.

Sainsbury for my roast beef (buy lots of the large taste the difference when they are on offer, chop them in half & freeze them).
Candida milk, the red top. Buy 24 or 36 at a time, lasts a couple of weeks. Get my Bonne Mamma jam & marmalade in here too.

Asda, don't see why people knock it, I love their ready preped salads & fruit salads. Love their fine cut salad & their ranch style salad & their little chopped fruit salads are the cheapest.

Love the salad bar in Morrisons, its the ONLY supermarket (near me) with a good salad bar.
  • Meat from local butcher, fish from local fishmonger, some groceries from Waitrose, a few things from Tesco, fruit and veg from weekly organic box scheme and top ups from local greengrocer, fresh herbs and newspapers from corner shop, Wine from Wine Rack (with 40% off voucher) or M&S or Stone Vine and Sun (online) or Waitrose. Stollen and Lebchuken (spelling?) biscuits from Lidl. Occassionally visit Saturday Farmers market for meat, bread and veg when I wake up on time. :D

I think it depends on how much time you have to devote to shopping and how MSE you need to be. Personally I could do all my shopping in Asda as I think it's probably all-round best value and unlike some stores you can do your whole shop there. But, when I have the time and the offers are good, I'll go to Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Farmfoods or Iceland. And every now and again I'll go to M&S or Sainsbury's and stock up on particular things I like. I'm lucky I have all these shops near me.

The normal supermarkets I visit, but I also visit Portobello Market for my fruit and veggies and sometimes fish. Also I visit small local grocery stores.

The point is that we shop where we can...
if I could easily get to one I would probably use ASDA.
The 'main' supermarkets near me NOW are Morrisons, Sainsbury, Tesco and the Co-op.
Somerfield burned down - and has been replaced by a Tesco Metro. The Co-op is fine IF you want to pay to park (it's in the town centre) but the choice is narrow - it's not huge.
    so for ease -Morrisons.
for the things I can't get there (passata (why?), Hey rolls and cheaper risotto rice) Sainsbury's (obviously I DO buy other stuff from there when I grant them the privelege of a visit)
if I am desperate Tesco (I don't like tesco because my car was dented by an abandoned trolley in their car park - no tokens - (and I don't like their 'world domination IMHO attempt))
I also shop a bit at Lidl
If I get a chance I like to go to Waitrose to see how the other half live:rotfl:

I go to sainsburys and go through mysupermarket on line to get it delivered as well. I go to asda with my daughters sometimes as that is her nearest and she likes it. Im not that keen, a lot of the things are the same price as sainsburys and some are dearer. Although they have clothes in there and I buy a lot of bits for my grandson.;)
