Did you find yourself a multi gym ? I got one recently that was advertised on gumtre. Almost new, and hardly used. He'd advertised it back in October for £150, and messaged him two weeks ago, he still had not sold it and I got the price down to £80.
My employer is allowing me to have the multi gym at my work. Time wise, I can't spend 2/3 hours at the gym and swimming every day when I'm working. He sees the benefits and difference of my work related performance I can give when I work out at the gym and when I do not. So that paired with skipping ropes and fingers crossed.Has anyone seen the Memory Foam type pillows that Poundstrecther are selling, 2 for £15 ? I was thinking about getting a pack.

I have a B12 deviancy. When tested, the results were ' 122 ', doctor said should be between 400-600. Nurse has put it back to every 6 weeks instead of every four, and i'd considered taking a supplement due to the signs and symptoms I experience approaching the third week after my injection.
( Regarding the supplements, calcium and magnesium that I chose to take after having it ok'd by my nurse and doctor )
I read it in a book, for sleep disorders and ran it by doctor. Also, because my bones crack and joints are always sore. I'm guilty for forgetting stuff, and noted all symptoms down the other weekend and as I was writing them, half of the symptoms I haven't told him about.
Have complied down all my trials and errors to give to the doctor though, and to also pass on to sleep specialist.

I would always advise that anyone with a pre-existing medical condition or on any prescribed medication speaks with their GP before taking any supplements. The problem is that the average GP knows very little about 'natural' therapies - I don't mean anything unproven but balanced nutrition, physical activity etc. You may do well to ask to be referred to a state-registered nutritionist.
Your other symptoms do need checking out: I would certainly want to know why you have a B12 deficiency. There seems to be more going on than has been diagnosed - this may be an underlying condition, it may be side effects from current medication/ supplements ...
Calcium will do nothing for your joints - the ligaments and tendons may even be affected by calcium deposits if you are ingesting more than your body can process. There is an excellent book on magnesium - "The Magnesium Miracle" - which is commercial looking and user friendly but is based on research (referenced throughout). Your joints and other issues may benefit from a high dose of fish oils (not cod liver oil) but, again, this should be initiated by the dietetics department at your local hospital.
I haven't learned anything particularly useful from my fitness course! My background is hospital pharmacy, then research laboratories, then back to pharmacy before I became ill myself. As I have a research/ biology background, it's pretty easy for me to work out what is backed up by a solid body of research and what is just hearsay. I can only imagine how difficult the doctors job must be. For years , it's like talking to a brick wall etc. Need to get back to him soon though. I forced myself in zombie state until I finished all my life long symptoms. and going to record delivery a copy to the hospital and insist more needs to be done.
Last week, my partner said, twice i've jumped up out of the bed in early hours, and opened the window out wide, and it's beginning to frighten him. My disturbing him also effects his sleep, therefore effects his performance at the work place.
Your fitness course,...was that in trainer...weights etc ?, if so, in your opinion or from what you learned, what exercises would be best to achieve increased oxygen flow in the blood.
When I ask at the gym, I feel like they're avoiding answering honestly. If I knew the answer, I may possibly no longer require paying their monthly fees and they're only there to make money, helping me won't do that.
So far, to maintain a quiet nights sleep with mumbles only, i've found I have to do a warm up, x20min treadmill, various weights (25-40kg, x2 or 3 16 reps ) , then go for a 30/40 mins swim. ( swimmings the only aerobic one so far i've found doesn't floor me for hours, but have to do it secondary ) that takes x2 hours out of my day, and hour travel, just to have a decent kip.
That's definately an unrealistic expectation to do on a daily basis considering my work day can be 11/12 hours a day pending traffic pile ups and grid locks.bam bam bammy Shore by The Revellers...do do de de do.0 -
Well i dont have any advice OP. But i know how you feel ! I've had problems for the past 3 years maybe 4 years sleeping ! Even when i am active in the day i am not tired at night. Saturday night i stayed up all night was not tired at all. I fell asleep for two hours in the afternoon about 3-5. I still felt tired but i refused to go back sleep still felt tired. Had a bath etc last night, got in bed and i did not get sleep until 7/8am this morning. Its beyond a joke !Proud mummy to 3 beautiful children who I love so so much :oxxxx

I bought a cd by Glenn Harold (Harrold) about getting a good nights sleep. I put it on as I am trying to go to sleep and never make it to the end. You are supposed to wear headphones, but I find them an irritant and wake because of them. If you want to know exact name of cd pm me. i too have trouble getting to sleep, and have for about 10yrs or so. the trouble is getting my mind to switch of. i have tried almost every thing from changing the way i eat,drink. supplements. over counter remedies. writing things down. heat packs. and a lot more.
I have no health issues that effect this or overwight. but i started to get so angry with myself that i could not just go to bed and sleep like the rest of the family that it finally did start to depress me and found that i would do things to stop me going to bed, but then i would cat napp on the sofa and it seemed to be a viscous circle.
I was finally persuaded by gp that it would benefit me in more ways than one to give in and have a prescribed sleeping tablet. I was told that i could take 1/2 to 1 tablet once or twice a week and that way i would not feel dependant on them.
I did and i wish i had given in and taken them a lot sooner. I know when i am really dreprived of sleep and find if i take 1/2 tab on two consecutive nights i will sleep not to badly after that sometimes not taking another tab for weeks at a time. I am not dependant on them but its nice sometimes just to get in bed and fall asleep without the huffing, tossing and turning and thinking.
I hope all of you find something that helps you as i do know what its like.Try everything you can even if if sounds weird, or too simple to work. there will be something that helps its just finding the right thing for you0 -
Hi, too many pages to read through but I suffer with OSA - Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Which is why, in the very first post, I was surprised to be reading this:The doc gave me a nasal spray to try and said I had sleep apnea.
As I have had treatment for three years and, before that, endured the severe toll on my mental and physical life and the damage it was doing my body eg slowly killing my brain, my heart through lack of oxygen. It does surprise me that a normal GP can just say it's SA. Then prescribe this spray. Having been through the process of diagnosing the condition - which normally takes a referal to a specialist consultant who runs a barrage of tests, yes the sleep clinic as mentioned somewhere in this thread - and then, only then can it be diagnosed. A GP cannot just diagnose it without testing for it. Callous, TBH. Without looking for other - of which there are potentially an infinite number of things that can cause it as well not just SA - I am shocked, actually they have.
Many people make jokes about SA but they do not appreciate the seriousness of it. There are plenty of British Heart Foundation leaflets about heart disease you are given when a sufferer. And I would like to explode the myth right now that anyone can suffer not just obese people. Thin you name it can. No one is precisely sure what causes it nor why it's triggered.
For the last 4 years this month I have had CPAP. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. Through a machine called RESMED. There are many names, manufacturers but all do the same thing. Blasts air into your nose and mouth overnight, whilst you sleep through a full face mask. Though everyone is different and some may not have full face masks nor the same treatment. Obstructive is the most serious and also most severe. Obviously. Because if you cannot breath when asleep the dangers are obvious.
Fortunately, I had a very good team through my GP practice at the time who assessed me and I am going for my annual check up next month. To see how I am progressing. RESMED and CPAP really did change my life around. As it does for many sufferers. Because, for the first time in years not only can you breath properly but also sleep.
Which is why it's surprised me the OP's GP just decided it was SA without further testing. Apart from it being a placebo eg sugar pill.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

climarelle has made the biggest most wonderful difference to sleep for me and my dh. We are now sleeping soundly and all we did was place a climarelle mattress protector on top of the memory foam mattress. Temperature through the night is now even so no hot and cold times. Truly wonderful invention

I believe head injury maybe a contributing factor, obviously, because I had one as a child, I can connect that to my sleep issues. I have one friend who kept going on about his knowledge transmitters and connections etc and read some stuff myself. Her/partner.. take on it was.... to do with brain connections and development at certain stages throughout life. Hence why she kept prodding at me that the popular onset is at teenage years. Saying something's not connected at that stage of development.
There's an ongoing study in Glasgow, for people who can't sleep. Lost the link for it. Google should bring it up.
