As rumncoke mentioned on Store Cupboard Challenge, I'm going to make a concerted effort to clear my freezer stock after christmas/new year.
I want to pay the deposit on my holiday in January and have it paid off by early March. Holidayed late September this time and it's WAY TOO LATE in the year - means christmas preparations become very hurried - planning to go away mid-May next time.

But will you be changing your username to ChilledOutandofModestMeans in 2010?0 -
This is a great thread everyone
1. Do more preserving and jam making, some resounding successes and a few failures but thats all part of the fun
2. Stop impulse buying and always take a list
3. Be more organised for birthdays instead of last minute panic buying
4. Carry on losing weight by eating sensible meals cooked from scratch with the occasional treat of a real pudding, cake or biscuit
5. To buy Christmas cards and wrapping paper in the sales0 -
One additional resolution to add to my list after reading that Royal Mail are increasing the cost of both First Class and Second Stamps by 30p in April. This increase is way beyond the rate of inflation so we will endeavour to bulk buy our stamps before then, and to buy sufficient Second Class stamps at the old rate to cover all our Christmas cards next year. (I think this whopping increase will only cause them to lose even more business to e-mail).0

hi, after a very expensive trip to Tescos yesterday I have told the hubby we are having an old style christmas next year. He will be banned from going to Tescos.
Resolutions are
1. get the veg patch going
2. possibly make my own bread
3. bake biscuits and healthy snacks for the kids, eating so much at the moment...
4. TRy not to throw any food away.
5. live within our meansGrocery Challenge Feb 16 £346 /4000 -
Great thread - I knew there must be one somewhere!
In 2009 I'd like to:
Get more organised with regard to meal planning.
Inventory my larder, storecupboard and freezer, and take part in the storecupboard challenge regularly
Resurrect the "Don't throw food away" challenge that was going on earlier in the year - anyone know where the thread has gone?
Have a go at making birthday / anniversary cards for people - I've always fancied trying it.
Grow more stuff to eat. We have barely any space for this so there are going to be some containers on the go!
Do more home made gifts for christmas next year - the ones we did this year went down SO well! I was really proud!
Make gifts rather than buying when we go to visit friends for dinner etc.
Have at least one night each week where the TV doesn't go on.
Continue with decluttering....
Finally finish decorating the spare room - preferably ahead of the planned visit from my friend who helped us start the process about three years ago - that's in late January!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
