New year Old Style resolutions...

Another January coming. Another year.
My house is a tip. My kids are insane. I have bipolar disorder, PTSD, and depression and am still getting over chemotherapy.
Today I made DH get up on his day off to take me 30 miles to Ikea to buy bedside cupboards on a whim.
Halfway there I burst into tears and admitted I don't have enough money for bedside cupboards. In fact I don't have any money at all, and am up to my eyeballs in debt.
So, NO MORE TEARS.
I have (with DH) made a list of debts and repayments. He has confiscated my credit cards and I have changed my littlewoods password to something I cant remember.
in between crying fits I have hoovered the front room and cleaned the litter tray.
I have failed to walk the dog, or start on the mountain range of washing that seems to be in every room.
Yesterday I bought a slow cooker, but didnt manage to use it today, but DS is now rummaging in the freezer to help me with dinner.
2010
I'm going to finish my course of counselling, even though its really hard.
I'm going to go back to the hospital and get my meds reviewed.
I'm going to pay off my credit cards.
I'm going to ebay some of the stuff thats filling the house (DS2s major buggy that he hasnt fit in for a year, 2 lifejackets that I keep for emergencies, etc etc).
I'm going to clear out the emergency stash of butter and tuna. I don't even like tuna.
I'm going to eat meals at mealtimes.
AND
I'm going to come back to the OS board which I stopped looking at months ago cos I felt so guilty.
Good luck skipsmum, one step at a time, and don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure you'll find this forum a great help, I certainly have. You know the old saying, a problem shared is a problem halved.0 -
Its very hard for me to make new years resolutions as Im so afraid of what 2010 will bring. This year I have lost so much - my health and my beloved midwifery so Im having to re-evaluate everything. I don't know that it will get better but it could get so much worse.
There are a few things that I would like to do:
I would like to make some friends who live locally as Im very lonely
I would like to learn to crochet as I think it would help my anxiety
MollyxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

So didn't do too well last year. Will try again!
Am doing the frugal challenge so that should help me sort my money out (in theory)
Other main aims are to get my back garden better organized and to get my house better organized. Going to start decluttering in some sort of order (probably room by room) instead of haphazard purges when I can't see the floor anymore!
Looking forward to seeing how we all do this time. Good luck everybody x

1) Stop buying cookery books -this'll be really tough for me0 -
Hi I would like to join please. I really need to sort myself out. I seem to have turned into a very lazy, procrastinator!!!!! I work 3 days, help in school 2 days, work in school 1 evening, 2 children with a much better social life than me and a husband who works offshore 2 and 2, though should have gone yesterday but was cancelled.
These are my NYR's:
1. Meal plan watch what I spend
2. Ebay stuff (I've got loads!) towards our holiday in 2010
3. Get on top of my cleaning and work out a realistic rota. Re-joined Flylady
4. Get up when my alarm goes off! Do a HHC in the morning
5. Tidy everywhere in the evening and get everything ready for the morning
6. De-clutter and keep on top of it.
7. Do more batch cooking for when DH away and more baking and bread making
This will do me for now, I'm sure there are more things I need to do.
Have a good New Year

Jayne - I think you did brilliantly, keep up the good work. I'd be really chuffed if I look back at my list next year and could see that I had achieved so much.:jSealed Pot Challenge member No. 874 £13.54 / £5002010 Crazy Clothes Challenge member No. 122 £0.75 / £100100 Day Challenge member No. 40 No toiletries until ALL potions and lotions have been used up, ditto for makeup, no magazines, no visits to the vending machine at work:beer::j:beer:0
