Taking legal action against Amway or IBS

Bernie and Janet split from IBS a long time ago and it didn't work out. They have been divorced for a few years and Janet was forced to work at a checkout in a supermarket by their losses.
I know of other once wealthy people who ended up in menial jobs because of divorce, it doesn't mean the busuness was 100% bad. Would Janet have been working at a checkout if the marriage had survived?0 -
;6599922]I've been with Amway for years, but not IBS, thank heavens.
Scriven, Butler, and Gregory have all had their contracts terminated for being unsupportive of the reforms. Reforms that have been put in place, I suppose, to stop what they were doing?
The Amway plan is supposed to only reward those people who help make others make money.
Making money out of training sucks and now it's been stomped on by Amway, and with good reason.
People will find a way to abuse anything to make money out of others with no real return for the victims. Just got to keep on finding the scumbags and dealing with them I suppose.
Hi Squawky,
I would be interested to know of your organisation within Amway, I never got to meet anyone out of the IBS group. I would like to chat offsite with you, but can't find how to send a personal message. I thought amway was a good way for anyone to get a start if they really wanted to have a go.

If the DTI are investigating Amway then I'd steer well clear now.
I've mentioned it before, but have a look at http://www.amquix.info/amway_exdiamonds.html for some info on the ex diamonds, emeralds etc.
Not just the UK where there has been a problem with the "tools".
Any more info about the class action against IBS and Amway?0 -

This thread amazes and astounds me! I was a member of IBS from 1994 until 2002. My wife and I reached the Direct level in the Amway business. I met J&M S on many occasions and found them to be very upfront and open about their business/IBS/Amaway in general. I CHOSE to join the business, not because of any hype or over inflated expectation of what was possible but because I saw a way to improve myself and maybe earn a little extra income at the same time. I CHOSE to leave the business because I felt that it wasn't something I particularly enjoyed doing any more. I wanted to do other things with my spare time and expand further my fledgling business which has since thrived.
The problem I have with this thread is that in order to sign up for the Amway/IBS business you have to be over 18. In other words an adult. One capable of voting, driving, getting married etc! Why blame IBS? Why blame Amway for your lack of due diligence when signing up to what you now refer to as a "scam"? I was never forced to buy tools or attend functions, that was up to me. I did subscribe to the training system OUT OF CHOICE because I could see that it would improve me as a person. As a direct result of the IBS training system I developed the people skills and confidence which have transformed my life. I now run a very successful business of my own (nothing related to Amway or MLM etc, just a conventional business) and earn a very good six figure income. I take several holidays a year as I have managers running my business. This has enabled me to buy investment property at home and abroad and in general my life is nothing like it was pre IBS. In all the 8 years I was involved I didn't spend even £5000 on the system tools, so those of you that claim to have spent £20,000-£30,000 must be either very bad at maths or have been in IBS for 30-40 years! Even if you did, why would you spend that much? Whatever the reason, such exageration totally undermines any credibility your point of view may have had.
I am still very close friends with 2 couples who were also in IBS but are no longer and ocassionally we chat about Amway when we are all together as thats how we met. Without exception, all 6 of us agree that whilst Amway didn't bring fantastic financial rewards for us (and 2 couples got to the Direct level and the other to 18%) if we had our time again we would actively pursue IBS to join the training system, from which we all benefitted so much both personally and since leaving, materially.
Yes there are 2 sides to every story but one thing that always makes me suspicious about people who moan about Amway/IBS is when they start talking about brainwashing, scams and being misled. Just remember we are all adults, don't take things on face value, research before you commit as you would with any business and if you fail, be big enough to admit it without looking for scapegoats or blaming others for your own short comings.
By the way TPAOY, I think you should be careful about referring to people as tax dodgers and fraudulent company directors unless you have hard concrete evidence to support it. The moderators of this site are responsible for what you post and they don't deserve to be legally hounded because of an ill conceived claim made by someone who has clearly not considered the consequences of their actions.0 -

Is this a fact or hearsay/speculation? When I knew them they had a few million to their name in property alone, and that was after they left IBS and started their own group.0
