    Looks like a 'drunken wager' auction to me. As in, guy in the pub bets his mate that he can sell an empty box on Ebay for £XXX - mate accepts bet, seller bids up and buys his own item to win wager of £XXX off his mate. :rotfl:

    I'm basing this on the seller's previous history!
