Peeing, stinking, destructive cats!

i think you can buy nappies for pets...i saw it on that Special Needs Pets programme the other week. Sounds mental to a non-pet owner but they really do have their uses with disabled pets, I think they are a great idea if the pets get along with them.0

I think all cats should only be allowed out on a lead as I am bloody sick of them thinking my garden is a litter tray. Dogs arent allowed to do it , humans certainly arent. They have more bloody rights than humans! I will do what ever I can to keep these filthy animals out! And before anyone gets on their high horse, I have kids to worry about before these filthy beasts. If I wanted animals in my garden I would buy one!
I suppose you are very clean and produce no waste ? I would be more concerned about the damage us human's are doing to the world than the mess a cat makes ,it is us people who are screwing up the world for future generations not animals.0 -

now now, just because Irr isn't a pet lover i can see their point re the garden.
my dad used to be annoyed, because every morning he'd go to his pond and walk around all the cat poo that had been deposited during the night, we didn't own cats, and it seemed the local cats used our garden as the local litter tray.
I'd probably be a bit peeved if the local cats used my garden as the local litter tray, but i have no garden so i don't complain.
But saying that we do have a communal garden that has a sign no dogs, so i don't allow my dog on that bit of land and the local moggies do use it as a litter tray, their owners don't clear it up, and its an area children play in.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
animals certainly shouldnt be thought of as below humans
That comment has shocked me, ALL animals come below humans. I love my cats dearly but if I had to choose between them and a human then the cats i'm afraid come last.0 -
I really do sympathise with the OP. I have 2 cats and love them both to bits but one of them really drives me mad at times. I too have in temper wished him dead but then always felt really guilty afterwards. I do not really mean it and know when he does go I will be very upset.
Any pet brings good and bad times (probably the same with children!). The cat that drives me mad is an oriental and I know they are very demanding cats. He wants to sit on my lap all day every day. The minute I sit down he is on my lap like a rocket purring like mad. The trouble is the rest of the time he is continually crying (anyway who has had an oriental will know they have an extremely loud cry). Some days he really does drive me mad - I end up with a headache. Obviously I cannot just sit on the sofa all day with him on my lap but how can I tell him that? He doesn't even want to sit on OH's lap.
He has scratched the wallpaper which cost quite a lot of money but that does not bother me that much or the scratched carpet and sofa! Other than the continual crying (and yes he does it most of the night too!) the thing that I get angry about is that he keeps peeing on the kitchen worktop! Yes the worktop - that is just so gross it's untrue.
I know with pets my house is never going to be immaculate and I accept that BUT the two rooms I am fussy about are the kitchen and the bathroom. He does not even go on the same bit of worktop every time. I am sure if my family and friends knew they would never come to my house to eat! He is 5 years old and has been doing this for the last 3 years - not every day but almost. I do not see that he is stressed. He gets lots of fuss and strokes from me and OH, he has a litter tray because if it is cold he will not go out, he is allowed to sleep on our bed. I seem to have to just accept it and I guess I do although I hate it. There are days though (not that often) that I really get annoyed about it especially if I get up to a stinky litter tray and wee on the worktop.
My other cat (a rescued tabby) is no trouble at all and, thankfully, never uses the litter tray no matter how awful the weather. The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

I dont go into my neighbours garden and crap in it and if someone's dog done that there would be an uproar! Dogs dont get to roam the street on their own. I just dont get it why cats get to do whatever they want and its accepted, us humans have rules to live by. Its like cats are above us in the order of things and thats wrong. On the issue of liking pets, I do like them but I chose not to have a pet because they are very demanding and as a responsible owner you must clean up after them. I have a neighbour who has 2 dogs locked in the house all day while they are out at work, I think thats terrible doing that to animals. I would be the same about dog mess (the streets are disgustig with irresponsible owners not cleaning up after them) if that was in my garden but its cats causing the problem. Why should I have to keep cleaning up someone elses animals mess so my daughter can play outside?0 -
kimberley, thats up to you, i took my animals on, and i intend to love and protect them as much as i can,
i think you took what i ment the wrong way a bit too,
i dont think they are above humans, and im not going into this,
they are alive just as we are, i dont see why a human life is more important than an animal life, why we think we are better, but thats how i think,
anyway, all i was bothered about was the op saying about the cats dying but they have changed that, i agreed with the fact that we also wont be getting any more cats once this lot start going to animal heaven, and understand the problems they have with the peeing etc, and i hope that they find a solution and manage to love the cats until the end,( and then give house huge clean)
i also thought thats cfc comment on animals was a bit off, but i understand what they actually ment,THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -

Alright if you had a choice to either save the life of your pet or your child/family member, who would you choose?
If you saw an animal in deep water struggling to keep afloat or a person who would you save first?
What i'm saying is that a humans life is worth more then an animals.0 -
depends if it was my beloved soul matepet against someone i didnt know, yes id save my pet, i choose pets to have as dont want kids, so my cats etc are my kids, if ya know what im saying,
so it goes without saying that id save my kids(cats)
i understand what you are saying, and i agree that if your house was on fire for example, and your kid and cat were in there that you would of course save the kid, so of course in my case id save the cats.lol.
a humans life is def not worth more than an animals though,
i dont know why people think that they are as important as that, and i agreed with what you were saying until you thought that your life was more important than another, lol. another of any kind, because you are not, war doesnt choose life either, all the innocent people getting killed because they are there, who says we are more important than any other life, if we had a fire id make sure my mother was ok and get the cats out, etc, i think the cats, if able would get out themselve anyway if they could, what make us more important? why is human life WORTH more than an animals?
just make sure its not you against an animal struggling in the water and its me that comes to the rescue, lol...
no seriously though, id quickly look to see who might be ok to be saved second,THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -

Thanks for explaining what you meant and thats your choice but myself I know I'd have to save a human before an animal. I'm guessing you would want your cats saved before yourself if there were a fire, so I would have to save your cats first?
