Peeing, stinking, destructive cats!

I love my cats but don't think I will ever get another once they are gone. I would just like to have my home back. I've had many cats over the years, and whilst I love their character I hate the way they are so destructive.

My cats are driving me round the bend. One has cost me a b****y fortune over the last few months as she is hyperthyroid. She smells disgusting but is so sweet, and other than being very stinky (and expensive) is no bother at all.

Her sister is a different story. She's such a cheeky little thing, very vocal, licks your nose (eeeugh!) and is always very pleased to see you. Lovely! But she pee's everywhere, always has done, for the 18 years of her life - we have tried everything, but she stills does it wherever she pleases. In the summer she is better, and goes in the litter tray outside (not in the soil, "how degrading!") but when it gets a bit chilly she wouldn't contemplate venturing outside. She goes on any carpet/rug, in the fireplace, and her latest, on the kitchen floor - we have removed the tiles as we thought it was coming from the washing up water but realise now that it's her again. She has a clean litter tray and still does it there. I haven't had a carpet in my house for years because they just pee on it and scratch it to bits.

I really love the nature of cats, but have vowed never to have another after my last two go. I can't wait to have a house I don't feel embarrassed to invite people round to.

Is this a serious post or are you just trolling?

How many cats do you have? I bet your cats are sorry they are such an inconvenience to someone who WILLINGLY took them on. If you have had cats for years why on earth did you not realise how destructive they can be and how awkward they can be about toilet habits. Perhaps you should make more of an effort to find out WHY your cat is peeing all over the place rather than just waiting for her to die?

Oh and BTW cats can live til their 25, I hope they do.......so a few more years yet. Have fun, I know your cats will.

    Er, serious.

How many cats do you have?

2 at the moment. I have had them since kittens and they are 18 years old. How long have you had cats? Over the years I have had many cats, all of which have been very well-treated and mostly died of old age. Yes, I willingly took them on. I love lots of things about them.

Perhaps you should make more of an effort to find out WHY your cat is peeing all over the place rather than just waiting for her to die?

I have tried to find out, to no avail. Cats do things like this. There is no medical reason why she is doing this. I still love her, but she drives me up the wall. Do your cats pee everywhere?

If you love them and they are your babies why can't you wait for them to die?

Its not really something you would say about something you love is it?

You can't really have expected much sympathy by starting your post with "I can't wait for my cats to die"

Or is it you have just had a bad day with them, if so I apologise but at the same time you really shouldn't post things like that and then expect people to be sympathetic to you. Maybe you should have just had a good old moan instead.

I have had cats most of my life, I am 29 now and have two of my own. Sometimes they pee everywhere (but not often) and most of the time they wake me up at three in the mornings with their carry on but no I don't think I have ever wished them dead. Maybe you would think that by saying you can't wait for them to die is not the same as wishing them dead but I'm sorry I don't see a lot of difference personally.

What were you expecting? Advice on how many rocks to put in the sack?

Cats pee all over the house when they are stressed, anxious or insecure. Though I can't imagine what could possibly be stressing out a pet with such a caring owner.

we have alot of cats, most rescued, several fostered ferals, yep, they have the odd spray, etc in wrong place, i have had many cats over the years, yep again to breaking things, running up curtains etc,
i think its terrible to want them to die,
i wont say what i think of your comment, but i bet many can guess
we have a cat that is 18 also,( 3 actualy), someone didnt want him, we took him on, he was really bad at peeing on electricals, anyway, he has a big cage that he lives in, we clean him out daily,he has a cosy bed, and he goes out in the garden, he gets attention,
this has obviously stopped him making any more mess in the main part of the house, so we can love him to bits. without hating the mess stink etc, hope this helps.
THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.

    yes - very controversial!

But I am sure that there are many cat owners who feel at their wits end - it can be difficult when you have taken a pet on for life and they have problems

To all the posters slating the OP - at least they haven't left their cats at an overwhelmed cat rescue, and they are seeking help on here!

So if anyone has any constructive advice, I am sure op will be glad of it!

Its recommended to have enough litter trays for one per cat, plus one, so if you have 2 cats, 3 trays etc, I would also advise going back to your vet and detailing the problems - I hope they can help :)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

The OP hasn't asked for advice or help, she's already 'tried everything' and is now waiting for them to die.

It's hardly comparable with an owner at their wits end asking for assistance.
