Peeing, stinking, destructive cats!

Felt awful saying that I wished my cats dead. I was really p***d off with them at the time as one had just wee'd on the kitchen floor again, despite having a clean litter tray.
I have edited my original post.
I don't have time to reply to everyone's comments at the moment but will come back on later.
A friend of mine has a cat that does this also.
Although it's not ideal she's managed to narrow down some areas he wees in and puts down incontinence pads.
In her case the cat is elderly.
Cats toileting all over the house, and also scratching stuff (especially edges of rooms) is a sign they are distressed.
My cat did this when I had to move her from my folks place to live with my partner in a different town. She sorted out the toilet issue quickly when we gave her a litter tray in a spare room so she didn't have to worry about my partner moving around her whilst she concentrated on doing her business but we had to put the scratching strips you can get from pet shops on wall edges until she settled down and attacked her scratch post instead.
It might be worth trying to figure out what is stressing your mogs out?0 -
We all have days like that and say things we dont really mean! Don't worry, and I hope you can sort out some easier solutons with your cats, like limiting where they go and getting the smelly one sorted!0

Aaagh, I think it was fine to say what you did. There's too many people on these boards who are so obsessed with animals that they value them above humans.
You expressed what you felt, why should you feel forced to apologise for it? You didn't say you wanted to dump them in a refuge or force feed them poison, or take them to the vets, or invest in a sack and rocks. Don't feel that you have to apologise!
Anyone who objects to what I just posted - feel free to hate flame!0 -

Great idea. I have some bed pads from when DS was toilet training. Will put these down in problem areas.0 -

Thanks CFC. You made me feel much better although I do feel terribly guilty. I didn't mean to offend but think I posted in haste and didn't consider other people's feelings. There are probably people on here who have just lost a loved pet and what I said wasn't nice.0 -

But where do you draw a line and say enough is enough ? I had my dog age 16 pts a few years ago and I cried many tears she was a great dog ,but she became very dirty in the house and very confused ,she wet on the beds and on the sofa and no you could not confine her, the house was open plan and being a collie was very clever and could open doors ,or if the children left a bedroom door open she would sleep on the bed and wet it ,so in the end we made the very painful choice to have her put to sleep and it was a very difficult thing to do ,but I had to put my family first and not being well off I could not afford to replace beds and bedding, Sam I felt had lost her dignity having been a very clean dog and I felt it cruel to keep her going.0

animals certainly shouldnt be thought of as below humans,
aaargh, i do have times when i think, you stinky lot of cats etc, but i love them to bits, we wont be taking any more on, and as the old ones go to kitty heaven when its time for them to go, we wont take any more on,
but we will always have a couple( we have loads at min) and help the rescue of cats etc,
i understand the flustration of stinky destructive cats, i think the wanting them to die thing, was a bit harsh, but you have explained, i lost a cat, she was only 11, i wish she had made it to 18, pee or no pee,
cfc, if i found a sick cat, and you needing help on roadside, id leave you, and rescue the cat lol..
1sue23... we are in same situation with our old dog, he has a cage , a big one, and a old cat next to him, both are unable to control when they go, dog doesnt know whats going on, and messes constantly, he is happy at moment, and enjoys fuss, and running in garden, but we are well aware that the time may come when we see he starts to suffer, then we will make the sad choice to stop him suffering,THANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0 -

I love my animals ,but no way do I put them above humans ,put any dog on an equal footing as a human and a very unhappy dog and an unhappy owner.0
