OP - if you are in the south of england - or not mind travelling..

Try Copthorne Motor Company - based near Gatwick Airport. Loads of fords - got my focus from them last January - blinding deal!!

They have a lot of ex lease cars that are not that old - but pricey, but they do have lots and lots of all ages. Worth giving them a call.

They have a website too.. and show some models

do a bit more research and this will probably change.

They don't seem to rate too badly on that website people have been posting

Out of the three I mentioned, they are by far the better looking car :grinheart

    (it's a woman thing :shhh: )

if looks are more important than reliability and price of parts then the pug sounds like the car for you. :p

I lurve my Focus!!! And it is a lovely colour - Jeans Blue - kinda apt for me!

Chameleon - you would love the quick clear windscreen! Especially in this weather! Icy? Start car, push button for front and one for rear, get out, clear side windows, get in, and windscreen will be clear! patented to Fords only (except some Mini's have them?? How??).

They are nice looking cars... and not French! (think mine could be of German origin... :o ).

Now that sounds great as my pet hate is scraping off ice! :D

I don't know though, Focus screams granny car to me for some reason, although I know it certainly isn't and I've seen young lads racing them around. Just something about them I can't quite put my finger on ......

Sorry OP we've hijacked your thread :o

If you've the money - look at the ST - son has one.. he's got his eye on the RS due out soon....

Not really family cars tho!! Would give a 'granny' a darn good face lift tho on acceleration!

  • So given the circumstances what can I expect in a ford focus for 3k.

I do like the looks of peugeot and heard they have good diesel engines, so I understand quite a few will vote for it. But reliability will be more important for me.

Could I get a silver 40k milage, 03/04 in that money? and how easy is it to get a baby seat inside it. Remember its is for the the "Baby Lordship" that I am even contemplating a car change. Its gonna hurt my finances. Ouch!
    Inside I am THINKING.

If you like to buy a 3/4 year old car for cash then keep if for 6-7 years like I do, then avoid diesels and French cars - end-of-life costs will force you to buy another car too early. Avoid cars that require a garage to change the front light bulbs (I am serious) like the Megane.

If you like to ditch a car after a couple of years ownership then buy the next one on credit like most people seem to these days - any of the above suggestions on this thread should be ok.
