We have a bunch of Ford fans in here, I just dont get it  :rotfl:

Skoda, Civic, Golf, Micra...Jap or German basically. You will get twice the car for your money that way. The initial outlay on the vehicle may be less on the Ford, but maintenance in the long run will make them less economical...not to mention the resale value too!

I have to disagree there. I do remeber Ford being voted the most reliable maufacturer a couple of year back. Ok, you can take these things with a pinch of salt but trust me, Fords have come a long was since the early 90s. Parts for Jap/German cars are more costly and the insurance too.

Also, the Focus is a great drivers car too.

I'm also looking for similar car and my shortlist includes Focus, Astra and Peugeot (307) with the Pug taking top spot at mo :D

  • Mileage isn't important. Condition is.
the op seems to think so. they asked for under 60k.

i would never suggest buying a poor condition car just because it has low milage. i would suggest walk away from it,just like i would the high mileage ex company car.

i dont see the point in buying a high miler focus when there are plenty low milage ones out there in similar condition.
