Lot of car for the money and if you shop around you should find cheaper that this one. Parts are readily available and they are very reliable, and very posh!

Petrol version are either too expensive to run (V6 engines) or unreliable with HGF (1.8 engines)

PS I have had a 75 for over 6 years now with 150k on the clock and still looks like new

Or if you're a little braver, an alfa romeo 147.

Girls shouldn't be allowed to buy Alfas....;)

Seriously though an Alfa has to be loved and pampered, if you don't do that then it will end in heartache.
  • The rover 75's aren't too bad as they were built whilst under BMW's stewardship. The 75 diesel is probably the one to go for as it uses a detuned version of the BMW engine as found in the 3+5 series.
Otherwise don't be scared to look at the bigger models in a range for the £3k mark e.g. focus's and mondeos will be roughly the same sort of money.

if you go private, remember to do an HPI check, and, unless your mechanically minded, I would also suggest getting someone out from RAC to check it over. will cost you £100 odd quid, but could save you in the long run.

We have a bunch of Ford fans in here, I just dont get it  :rotfl:

Skoda, Civic, Golf, Micra...Jap or German basically. You will get twice the car for your money that way. The initial outlay on the vehicle may be less on the Ford, but maintenance in the long run will make them less economical...not to mention the resale value too!
