Probably emanating from the days of Midland Bank, my HSBC Cheque book still has me down as ....name....Esquire.

I cannot recall ever being addressed as Esquire tho'..;)
  • I have one of those surnames that some people do find difficult to pronounce. I do get addressed as Mr. last name, so,so,so with some mispronouncing my surname. I simply tell or ask them to call me by my first name which most are grateful for.

The ones that rile me are those CS officers from a popular mobile phone provider with capital letter T who always call me by my first name on first contact and also take pleasure in not trying to get my surname right.

It does not bother me one bit if I'm addressed as a Mr or not, but take offence at my surname being deliberately mispronounced.
Money is like a bird.....if mishandled, will simply fly away....
