What would you prefer banks to address you as?

I'm finding that more and more these banks etc are using the first name. I find that absolutely unacceptable and may right to Gordon Clown about it.0

It annoys the living daylights out of me when anyone calls me Miss.. I changed my name not long ago and double-barrelled it,with that of my partner and now prefer to be known as Ms rather than Miss. However, I've not changed my name on my bank account so its always Miss surname with them... but with any of the stuff I have changed my name on rather than let them struggle with my new surname I always just say just call me Andrea rather than let them struggle with my double-barrelled name!

From the POV of someone in a bank, I always introduce myself to my customer first by my first name, then whatever they use back (usually just first name) is what I say. I'll definitely not use a customer's first name unless that's how they've introduced themself to me!0

I remember years back I had some repulsive wideboy debt collector on the phone chasing an alleged £35 debt for a utility bill. He insisted on calling me by my first name. I instructed him to call me Miss----. His reply, "I will call you whatever I like." I told him that unless he quit the attitude and refrained calling me by my first name, I would hang up the phone. He continued being rude and offensive and so I hung up the phone. Way to collect a debt, dude.
Calling someone by their first name when expressly asked not to is rude and unprofessional.0 -

Mrs .......... I think they are taking liberties and being very unprofessional if they use my first name.

Mrs Blah-Blah.
I had an experience like MoneySavingAllDay and it annoyed me hugely.
I also get DCA's missing off the first bit of my double-barrelled surname like they think I've made it up or something. But then that's just the snobby side of me coming out!

I think it depends on which bank:

I'm 26.
I detest it when companies use my first name!

I'm a fairly chatty friendly person, but in a business context I really object to being addressed by my first name.0 -
'Miss .....'. Only my IFA who I've known since I was 14 and my mum has known for years (like 25) gets to call me my first name!!
Oh and I am also under 25.
Oh but when I am working FOR the bank I always use my first name, however it is quite unusual and I've been called:
Sally
Tally
Jenny
Harriet
Tanya
Betty
tbh i've only had a couple of customers openly request I call them by their first name.
When I go into Halifax to pay in a cheque the cashiers always attempt to pronounce my surname... only one of them has managed.Kavanne
