What time do you have Christmas Dinner?

Well even though the kids wake up really early, they usually sort the presents out into piles and wait 'noisily' until we get up (how do they manage to control themselves I'll never know, but thats what they have always done) before opening presents.
They take turns opening up and playing with toys, which sometimes feels like hours....therefore we tend to have a cold lunch (sandwiches, dips etc) that we do 'buffet style' around 1pm, and then have our 'proper' Christmas dinner about 5-6pm.0 -
After a few brandys it gets to about 11 and I think I had better put the turkey on. Oh agoes out to the pub to get away from the noise and mess. So about 3pm for us. Then leftovers and christmas cake whilst watching Dr Who. And my sister better shut up while it's on.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

We normally eat about 12ish - have done this since we were little and used to get up at the crack of dawn. My dad could never wait for his dinner. Sadly he has since passed on and even though I have now left home and live with OH (eight years) we sill get up walk the dog, open presents and hop in the car to my mum's for Christmas dinner:xmassign:

reckon people think i am mad! got so fed up not seeing the kids open the presents and being left out of things being stuck in the kitchen that three years ago, I changed xmas dinner day to boxing day dinner instead.
the past three years have now been really relaxing, about noonish I put out the buffet, salads and pickles and cheese & whatever else has been bought, and thats it, I spend the rest of the time watching tv, relaxing and enjoying christmas day and watching the kids open presents, and playing daft games with them, which due to xmas dinner and starting to cook at silly o clock in the morning have never had the chance to do before.
boxing day is relaxing, dinner is scrummy and no one is feeling sick [or in the case of the kids being sick!] and none of the dinner is wasted. As on boxing day I dont let the kids have breakfast, they are full up from xmas day anyway with all the chocolates and stuff they eat.
Also boxing day is when freinds come round, so they all have dinner here as well with us, I find it easier to deal with now, and look forward to christmas day without all that washing up cooking and kitchen stuff.nothing is impossible, just maybe difficult.0 -

we eat about 2:30 (ish) but we are not usually back from church untill nearly 12:00 it is the same for sunday lunch so we are quite used to it.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I have realised that I always seem to focus so much on the big dinner that I forget to plan a breakfast and lunch/supper so I think this year i will be more organised...
Cooked breakfast at about 8 or 9am (toddlers!)
Soup for Lunch at about 12 or 1pm
Christmas Dinner at about 4pm
Cheese and biscuits and cold meat etc in the evening for anyone who can manage it!
Sorry, finished Christmas shopping and most of the wrapping so now I'm starting on planning the food...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

We normally have Christmas dinner between 2.30 and 3 PM, and it takes about two hours for a three course meal. We do have coffee and mints but normally have those in the lounge.
Before that we'll have breakfast (normally stollen, posh coffee and Bucks Fizz) at about 10.30, then me and my sisters will help my mum with the last few bits for the dinner and go to the pub for about 12ish for a quick drink and do presents at about 1.30 (although my nephew normally opens his presents before breakfast). We don't really have food in the evening other than picking at chocolate and suchlike, although there might be some cheese or someone might make Christmas sandwiches (doorstop bread, turkey, ham and cranberry sauce)."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
