Everyones posted in the time it's taken me to get home from work...I had loads to read!!
I've got my 12wk scan on Thurs - I'll be 12 +1 :j It's at 1:20 but it will take me an over an hour to get to and from work in the city centre to my local hopsital. I'm going to negotiate with my boss tomorro, it doesn't seem worth me going in
Ladybird - you sound very calm through out considering what was happening, not sure I would be  - but def worth it
I'm loving the name chat - I think I'll take notes...
MrsTine - hope you get everything sorted before rue arrives and at not a too much cost!
Evryone else - lots of rest, and keep those bumps cosy!0 -
On a baby urelated issue...I had ds2's first speech and language assessment today, he has to have two more, but she think he is OK, and may not need any additional help....
On the other hand his teacher has referred him to the school doctor to assess his fine motor skills, and he is going to be assessed for Dyslexia too, which she (and I) am pretty certain he has:(
I hope they hurry up as it will mean trips to different clinics etc...and with no car it is going to be a pain, when I am ready to drop this one!

I just keep thinking i must have missed something, i mean when dh started his job 18 months ago he was earning same as me and every few months we did something big to the house and went abroad twice, SO i THOUGHT we would have been able to save but both of us struggling at work and havent saved a penny in four months just paid bills, cancelled luxuries and penny pinched.
Is it worth borrowing the money to be off a couple more months??? my mother doesnt know how much less were both earning now(always paid for her stuff before too) but knows ive cut down everything, she has some savings and would lend me the money if i asked but do i ask???:j

My dearest hubby is on his way home with something cakey and cream filled... That's why I married him... He went to get all day breakfast things on Saturday after Aimee had gone and popped into the bakers and got me a cream doughnut... I ate it while I cooked the sausages!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

candice56, assuming you're due after April and paid over £123.06 a week, SMP is 90% of your usual salary for 6 weeks, then £123.06 a week for the next 33 weeks, both of which are taxed.
More info: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Pregnancyandmaternityrights/DG_10029290
ETA: Don't forget you get £86 a month Child Benefit plus probably some tax credits. I think you'll need to wait until you have your P60 in April to get the exact figures, but if you can estimate your earnings from this year you can have a bash at putting them into www.entitledto.co.uk. The Child Benefit and tax credits is backdated to the date of birth - you have to get the birth certificate, then fill in loads of forms and send it off then you get a backdated amount plus weekly/monthly amounts going forward (based on what my friend told me when she had her little one 10 months ago).0 -
candice- depends really ... if you plan and can afford to pay it back maybe ... im just saving my bum off and getting everything i need before bubs is born... im used to having nothing at one point i was living on £60 a week for 4 months for food gas electric nappies and anything else DD needed and still went to college ... god only knows how i still dont know x
