  • Oh, me too! They didn't ask, just brought in tea and toast for 2 - bless. :D. Best tea and toast ever! :A.

    xx

Do you kno wwhat they did to me? Contractions 2.5 mins apart. Had been on monitor all day as had been induced and they thought babies heart rate was dropping as I was contracting. They told me to get dressed and walk up to the canteen to get myself something to eat. I HAD TO BLOODY PAY FOR IT!!! And sit amongst the visitors while contracting (no drugs either) I had cheese and onion pasty chips and beans and it was lovely (threw it all up an hour later but what the hey!)

does anyone know when ASDA are doing their next baby event??

want to get one of the johnson baby box things (unless someone can suggest an alternative)

Its funny you should ask that, as I was thinking about them yesterday and remembered they were only £10.00 in asda, when I popped in yesterday I asked at customer services and I was told that that event is only once a year around September / October time. They have them for £20.00 instead of £25.00 in Babies r us at the momentand thats the cheapest I have seen them otherplaces stock them for £30.00

Failing that you could just but either a baby bath box or a nice vanity case and fill it with all the bits you need.

    Thanks Sparkle,

As I am due in March, think I will have to put one together myself. Have the stuff to go in it myself if I am honest, but just wondered what to search for on ebay to find the case. Will try vanity or something similar
  • I wanted a baby box thingie too AF.

Feelie - Ethel Austin have some darker blue (royal blue-ish) cardigans and tops in at the moment (some are in the sale too). I also bought some green and red things from Next. I know what you mean about it all being pale though - I wanted to buy some proper little boy clothes.

Krystal - don't hold me to this but I think that there might be a voucher for the changing bags in Boots that you can fill in whilst you are there

I just bought some raspberry leaf tea :T

Greent, my sister was undiagnosed breech, ended up blue lighting it from the midwife led unit to the hospital 40mins away on her knees on a guerney for an emergency CS... IA was discussing it with a midwife at work though and she said it's actually quite difficult to distinguish between head and bottom as they're both quite hard feeling, it's only when you're dialated enough to get a poke at the baby they feel the squishy skin of the bottom...

Changing mats, I still have Aimee's here... Rather randomly it always lived under the arm chair because there is a gap just big enough to slide it in and out... And seeing as it was never in the way it's never been moved... Will probably replace it with another though as the plastic has split up one side... Wouldn't spend £20 on it though, will definitely got for a cheapie... They do the same job!

CHanging bags... Can you believe I sent hubby to fetch the free one from boots and he lost the coupon!!! I was really looking forward to getting my gemagic on it and personalising it too... Oh well he'll just have to fork out for a nice one for me! I had one of the rigid sided ones for Aimee and it got right on my wick, you can't just poke your hand in and grab something, you have to open the whole thing up... Think I still have it somewhere but I won't be looking too hard for it ;)
Oh and I hate big bags, love little handbags and as soon as I was able swapped to a tiny handbag and just used to shove a nappy in it as I went out of the door...

And I think you get a travel pampers wipes box in the bounty pack you get in hospital... Well I did anyway... If not, sure they pop up on the front of magazines now and again... I ended up with about 3 anyway... Again, still got the nice huggies one...
I lost my coupon and so (by suggestion on sami i think) signed me mum up and got one that way lol

    OK!
I spent half the day in town today, went to New look who's maternity range was shockingly small, there were no black trousers or jeans in my size....screwing!
So I ended up spending £15 on clothes for Warren, they have stopped selling baby clothes now so had loads in the sale, got 3 pairs of jeans, a jumper/tshirt type thing and 3 little t-shirts all 0-3 months, they are sooooooo cute!

Then went to Dorothy perkins, and fluck me their maternity range was crud aswell, nearly gave up and started crying  when I spotted the sale rail! :j got 4 tops and a cardi (all maternity) for £22 :j
Now i just need a pair of jeans and a pair of black trousers which i'll probably just order online as there are no shops where I am that sell decent maternity stuff, peakocks had a nice range but only one trouser length
Oh and I got me changing bag from boots too, so all in all not a bad day.

AF - are they the purple boxes with johnsons goodies in them? If so then they were in costco just before christmas. Sorry I didn't see the price though x

That was the first thing my Mum bought when I told her. I thought she'd bought it for me, but no, its hers, but I can use it when I visit with the baby!

I'm feeling better after seeing Midwife. All reassured about the baby, and we had a good chat. She recommends seeing CPN a little more regularly, she couldn't believe that they only see me once a month and are planning to discharge me in March, despite being pregnant and hormonal.

Starting to get excited now, 2 sleeps and I'm having a 4D scan!!
