Oh by the way, you may be interested that my control knickers are brilliant as they act as a kind of gastric band! I kid ye not, I was not hungry at all yesterday as it was crushing all my internal organs so my stomach didn't stand a chance, and my portion sizes were smaller and I felt fuller for longer. Okay, so I looked like a twit but it's a small price to pay!Start Date: 27/11/2010

Hey Floozie, MSE it is not, but who can resist? Thankfully my mother in law is also a celebrity gossip junkie and I get them after her. I have resolved that it is better to wait a day for Kerry's gut or Jordan and Peter than to be even poorer than necessary!:rotfl:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

I was reading through the said magazines yesterday, and one of them had a voucher to get Heat magazine for 99p yesterday, and another had one to get OK magazine for £1.50 off the cover price. I don't think I can stand the temptation. I'm going to have a go at getting a magazine circle at work with the girls. I'll buy my two (cheap) magazines each week, and they can buy the expensive ones....I don't mind reading out-of-date magazinesStart Date: 27/11/2010

Days to payday: 22 (whoops, have been miscalculating, just realised the 15th is a Saturday so I will get paid the day before but I hate it when that happens as it always then seems to be a five weekend month).
DH went to the dentist yesterday but it didn't cost him anything as the deposit he'd paid last week covered the visit. He does, however, have to have two teeth out, which will cost him £120 (a private dentist).
Took DS2 to a new soft play centre nearby to get him out of the way of his older brother who had a friend over. The entry fee was £4.25, a slush puppy cost £0.60 and a packet of maltesers £0.50. We managed to get three hours out of it because as they were quiet they said we could stay longer than the normal 1.5 hours. There were a couple of ladies there who I know locally with their granddaughters so it was nice to get out and have a natter.
DH is going to the garage today to hand over his log book and clear his belongings out of his car (although he's threatening to change his mind and bring it back home as he is convinced the garage is ripping him off). If he manages not to do that, then he should be bringing home £200 tonight, so at least that will pay for his teeth doing!
Have no plans for today other than cleaning upstairs. I think I shall take up my MP3 player and leave the kids to their own devices downstairs.Start Date: 27/11/2010

GRRRRRRR - I am mega frustrated. Car insurance is the biggest con going!
Why is it that when I cancelled my house insurance half way through the policy, that was it. Yet I cannot cancel a car insurance policy and have to pay not only the remainder of the premiums (£59), but also a cancellation fee on top (£10)!!!
Why is it that I am a named driver on DH's policy, he is the named person on the policy only because he is the main driver, and they can talk to me about everything to do with the policy, but when it comes to swapping over cars to his policy all of a sudden they have to only deal with the policy holder? Bloody jobsworths!
Oh well I'm glad to shot of the rip-off merchants.Start Date: 27/11/2010

Blimey. They want it all. I'd argue that either they refund you the £59 minus the £10 cancellation charge or you simply allow the policy to lapse uncancelled. Paying £10 to set their records straight is ridiculous. Really it is. Still at least you've got rid of the money drain that is OHs car...... perhaps a moped would be a very vague solution to the not really a bicycle dilema. You can use a 50CC hairdryer on wheels with your current UK driving licence and insure it for £100 a year still perhaps the bus is a safer (and cheaper) option.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
