I'll be having a look in my Tesco - as I know that store inside out, know the prices of the stuff I've been looking at, and so will know if they really are reducing stuff at up to 50%.

Some childrens bikes were already half price last week, up to 60% off toys was in evidence yesterday instore, and most toiletries gift sets were one third or half off.

The OP has posted in good faith to let other money savers know about this deal why is everybody's so pedantic on these boards, getting their post counts up just by shooting people down.

I overheard some bakery staff this lunchtime and a manager saying the Christmas cakes would be half price tomorrow. I was going to get one so now I will wait until then!

What rubbish. Most people dont give a damn about post counts. We appreciate the OP posting but as you will see from other threads, people now take this sort of thing from Tesco with a pinch of salt.
Here is a reason why. Last week or the week before, Tesco mince pies were 2 for £1.80, today they are 2 for £2. I dont know when they went up but i wouldnt mind betting they go down again tomorrow and they will try and say they are helping the customer.
Another, Heinz Spag Hoops (small tin) recently 28p, last week up to 45p, today, 38p, all to make it look like a genuine price reduction.
I am sure many here will back me up and say this is far from isolated.
