  • I went in today as normally would on a Friday and was delighted cos the stainless steel pedal bin my daughter has wanted for a while was reduced to £10, which was less than 50% of previous price.

Then as a bonus it scanned at £14.97 and I got a £9.94 refund so bin only cost £5.03.

Any reduction is good if its something you want and havent been able to afford beforehand. Its a simple case of self control, not just buying cos its reduced.

totally agree here- was in woolies yesterday & people were buying up DVDs & games as they were 10% off- one game on 360 would have been £34.99 in woolies- game are selling it for £24.99 yet people were still grabbing them- walk 2 shops down you fools!!!! nearly all the dvds are cheaper elsewhere anyway!!!

You know, when I go into shops and see people buying things I know are cheaper elsewhere it kills me not to tell them but I would feel like a right idiot so I don't bother. I've just gone around my school telling parents about this childrens tax credit for 2002/2003 that a lot of people are entitled to but are not aware of it, so far 3 people including myself have received over £1000. I like to see people getting what's owed to them and that includes getting bargains.
  • Another, Heinz Spag Hoops (small tin) recently 28p, last week up to 45p, today, 38p, all to make it look like a genuine price reduction.
I am sure many here will back me up and say this is far from isolated.
Frozen broccoli was 87p per kg in early Nov, then £1, now 94p.

reading this site, and using my head I discovered that there is really no such thing as a sale, apart from the last few weeks or january or early feb when prices are really slashed

Actually the late summer clearance sales (end of aug/sept) can provide even better bargains, online at least
