Can i ask a question to the people who got a VIP slot emailed to them.
We've been a next customer for quite a few years but have never got an invite.
I've clicked all the things on my account to get updates etc but never get anything from them about promotions etc.
So i got my dh to call them up to enquire about it.
After waiting on the phone for 15 mins he was told that we wouldn't get an invite as our account has been marked as 'inactive' because we haven't used it since July this year
I spent over £120 in July.... am i supposed to order something every month just so my account doesn't get marked as inactive.
So i was wondering if those of you that have been given a VIP, have you been using your account all year long?
Don't see why our account should be marked as inactive just because we haven't ordered since July.... seems rather unfair.
Looks like my dh will have to battle the crowds in the shops instead :rotfl: ... i'll stay at home & keep warm
make sure u use ur account the month of the next big sale its blatantly one of the criteria for choosing some people0 -
In the last few VIP sales there's been a supposed limit of 70 items in your basket per order but I've found that its made me complete the order after around 60 items so I just pay the delivery charges and if I feel like it, phone them up and ask for one of the charges to be refunded later on...
As for items going out of stock today - there's always weird stuff going on with sizes and availability from the preview lists to the actual start of the sale - some appear and others disappear so I just try and add all the codes I've written down and am prepared for not being able to get some of it...0 -
I have been getting the VIP emails for about 3 years and probably make 4 orders a year., and except the Winter sale (which a lot gts returned), I dont spend a lot. My last order was September - god knows how they choose.0

BUT if they dispatch it when the sale has started and the item does come down in price then you pay the sale price.
You just need to hope what you pick comes down in price when you buy it and make sure its dispatched when the sale is on :T:T:T:T:T
if you order before monday it will be picked before the vip sale starts. i thin k they may mean before the actual not vip sale starts?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
I'm not sure if this would be the case but it says when that the last slot you book is the one you have to use on all the online info so just wondering if this means your original slot has gone now the telephone person booked a later one??
Yikes!! Good thinking! But I just checked my Next account in a panic and my online time slot is still sitting there confirmed - phew!0 -
I've got mine booked for 5.00pm too, yay! I logged into my account last night and my invite was there, although didnt get the actual email invite until 11am this morning!
Last year I ordered loads, when it got to 70 items it made me check out, then it said that I was allowed back in (altho this was way after my allotted time) to shop more, I ordered another 70 items and was allowed in again. Just emailed next the following day to get my 2 extra p&p's refunded, no probs!

I have been a next directory customer for 11 years and pretty much order 12 months a year and spend a lot of money because I do not go anywhere else. I love NEXT. I also clear my account each month so I never owe a thing and I have never had a VIP slot. Like everyone else I have been told when I phone up that the computer randomly selects customers. I do not think the computer is randomly selecting very well when customers get chosen as VIP several times and some of us do not. Really disgruntled and disappointed - this is what I look forward to every Christmas - the Next sale - but I have to wait until people start returning items before I get a look in.0

I'm wondering if that could be a factor, i get it delivered but don't get charged the £3.50 for it unless I order from it. So by giving me the VIP slot they get to charge me £3.50 for the directory that they would otherwise have lost. Just another theory[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]

We used to get the directory catalogue delivered but asked them not to send it as we can look online at the clothes so don't need a huge catalogue sitting round.
Maybe the woman was just talking rubbish as it seems unfair to make an account 'inactive' for not ordering for 5 months. I don't begrudge people their slots but it would be nice to have a turn.“Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers.”
Some people only dream of angels, i held one in my arms.
Praying this baby makes it.0
