dippydiane - I feel sorry for you having to work in conditions like that... in the Blackburn store customers were also treating the place like a jumble sale. I'm not one for holding my tongue so the people that i saw dropping things on the floor instead of putting them back on the rails got a piece of my mind.
I don't understand the shoplifters though. Because its reduced in price, does that make it more enticing to steal?0 -
Newport Maesglas store had 30% off all their mobile phones.0

Just popped in my little local Woolies before and picked up a 9" chrome fan for £4.19 (I have a son whose bedroom gets awfully stuffy and smelly lol!) and a stand up 16" fan for £6!
All their cards were 60% off which came in handy as I have 6 birthdays to get for this coming week.
Oh, also got a Cole and Mason Salt and Pepper mill set for £7.
I didn't buy, but they had the boxes of pick n mix sweets @ £15 a box.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
In Newark (Notts) today the Ladybird small gingham check school summer dresses were 3 for £1!
They had pale/mid blue, navy (not many), red, green, yellow, pink, lilac, in a good range of sizes.0 -
Yes, that's how shops operate.
What I was pointing out was that buying new stock in when they're shutting all the shops in approx. a week is a rather risky thing to do. Don't you think?
No guarantee that everything will sell at prices above what they've paid for it. They might be left with an even bigger pile of stuff than they had to start with or will have to sell it off so cheaply that they won't make any extra money.0 -
Staines Woolies has some nice big things in
8 ft trampolines - I think about £70
Little Tikes folding playgrounds £70
Little Tikes kitchens (large ones) £70
all have 30% discount on top
HTHAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
I was told by an Assistant today that they will only have a couple more deliveries, the next one is on Monday and they are closing in early Jan.0

Well I was in today looking for more cheap craft stuff for Brownies and spotted the school uniform at 60% off. Ended up spending about £12 and stocking DD up for the next three years or so with pants, socks, vests, polo shirts, gym pumps and four sets of two-piece school dresses. Went home, phoned all my friends with kids.Val.0
