I think the sales may last a while though, if they have to sell all stock off then there will still be some left in the warhouses as well.

If the staff had any sense they'd be buying the better bargains up before the hoards get there for a massive ebay profit!!!

Yes its sad but sympathy is very limited this recession is bitting us all hard, its harsh but as esther ranzen would say "thats life." Jobs are being lost all over the place from Scotland to lands end but the basics of life dictate that these sales offer people the real prospect of affording things once out of reach and you cant deny people the chance to buy goods at good prices.

I also heard the 5live Drive announcement - also followed up by the text from a Woolies manager....saying that they knew that was going to happen - 2 weeks to go - Stores shut Xmas eve and the news can be buried!
