It might not be too great at the moment. But I'm still going for a look. May as well.

It may have been old signs? I'm sure they're different to ones my store had. The "up to" is in top right corner. Mine were inside the 50%...

i do hpe the staff are getting paid on a daily basis, in case it goes pete tong by the weekend. expcting people to work on with no guarantee of being paid must be very worrying.
    This is a common misconception.

If Woolies cease trading tomorrow, the staff will be able to claim unpaid wages via the Insolvency Office. (up to certain limits)

  • Does anyone know when the "Big W" in Beckton opens this morning? Since the website is down, I cannot find out? I am guessing it is 9 or 10am but wondered if anyone knew.

    Thanks

I'll be staying away. Good luck finding a new job if you one of the staff.

Our local usually opens at about 9. But I think someone earlier said that opening was going to be delayed to give managers a chance to have a word with the staff. So its anyones guess at the moment.

love it says thursday but not the date ie tomorrow!so when is it!

i went to the 'up to 50% off' sale and didn't buy a thing, all the cd's and dvds are still cheaper online than with the pathetic 10% off them they had. i think it highlights why they have got into this situation, they have been over priced for a long time.

if there is anything decent in a closing down i'd go, but if the lease is payable till after christmas and so are the wages why would they sell off all the stock tomorrow?

small sainsburys would be perfect where our wollys is.

I went on Saturday and came out empty handed, it will be interesting to see if anything changes today. It was obvious where the bargains were as the shelves were empty, but at the same time the other half (10% off) were still full. I did feel a bit like a vulture, but I don't think not going to the sale is going to help the staff at all. Good luck to anyone who gets a bargain today.
