Went to three stores today...
West Ealing - mostly rubbish, and only lightly-discounted rubbish at that
Wembley, Preston Road - not bad, real friendly staff, open to offers (did a deal for me on a large bag of Christmas light spare bulbs), lots of CDs left, quite a bit of store furniture up for grabs too.
Wembley, High Road - still a fair amount of stock. Not open to offers/deals at all... did ask, got a blunt 'No' (fair enough). They've extended a day to close on the 3rd due to the amount of stock left.0 -
It is a shame that the staff are loosing there jobs BUT a girl who worked there for many years was telling my work mate today that she is receiving 12k in redundnacy so not all bad!
i might be wrong but i thought it was 1 weak for every year worked if you are under 41
or 1 and 1/2 week if over 41
maximum 12 weeks
and its £330 per week when company is in administration
so how she is going to get 12k
Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -

Anyone live round by West Byfleet or Chertsey and know when they're going up to 80% of 90%, its just they're got so much stock its unbelieveable and they shut on the 2nd Jan and its still on 50%. But it was great got loads of stuff and actually had kids pj's (indiana ones) cost about £4. Been in every day for the last week (spent a fortune).:j0

Picked up a few CD's from Milford Haven Woolies today. According to the list its closing tomorrow but the sign outside said "3 days". Items were 60% on the sale. Shall check tomorrow as I saw a Cecelia Ahern book I wanted to buy for my boyfriends sister as she has all her other books.
There were chart CD's still there. I found John Legend - Evolver (£4). I've got all his other CDs. Been a fan since I randomly picked up his first album.
I also found Michael Buble's new album 'Call me irresponsible' - the 2 disc limited edition version (£4) and two Mary J Blige albums - reflections (£2) and growing pains (£4).
Finally, I managed to get six Indiana Jones collectable action figures from the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. £2.97 each instead of £7.99.0 -
