But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today I will:
- check online banking
- update spreadsheets
- make a loaf in breadmaker
- add some coins to sealed pot
- swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- storecupbord tea - left over chicken casserole and rice;)
- free lunch out as taking some of oldies out for xmas meal to pub:D
Catch you all later:D

Morning All:hello:
I've been logged out, but on here all yesterday as I showed a colleague around the available financial advice on here. Weird
Then I couldn't remember my password :rotfl: like being locked out of a party :rotfl:
So today I have/will:- had breakfast (I ought to post that each day, because eating breakfast keeps me away from the vending machine) and brought in lunch.
- Defrosting the 2nd half of the loaf for tomorrow and Friday.
- Umming and ahhing about tonight. Either I go out for dinner with some girlfriends which I've been looking forward to, but as I've never eaten out with them I'm hoping they don't go LARGE on me
Or cancel it, and go for dinner with boss & client which would be free but duller........ I really can't decide
- send one of the sold e-bay items and maybe list a couple more tonight.
- STOP avoiding the spreadsheets and work out what can be paid......:o
- washing on at 30
- bathroom already cleaned with OS remedies (Oh I need that smilie with a halo sometimes :rotfl: )

Store cupboard dinner
Shopping list for Sunday (Family coming for day)
Get Diary and plan the next week. (Only 1 week to go b4 we go to Turkey:j )
I had mixed feelings about a Christmas away (dd's not coming, staying with bf, and mum and dad usually come for day or we go there) but having our day on sunday. But since I had the flu thing and looking at work for next 2 months I am now looking forward to it, it will be nice to see friends and maybe do something different, lots of walking we're not tied coz the apartment is ours so I am now thinking it might be good. Quidco money paying for Christmas Dinner out and DH has a little cash for New Year. So should be good.
So I am off to find some cheerful socks to keep me warm and some slob clothes that are comfortable. Have a good day
My finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -

Hi everyone
Had a good night last night - shared a bottle of wine with a friend at the nice Wetherspoons (yes they exist!), was £8.69 for the bottle so cheap evening - and she gave me my Xmas present - I gave her hers as well, nice haircare hamper built up with Boots glitches. So that's one more present gone from the big pile in the living room! Then me and BF went to the public dress rehearsal of a new play - no mistakes made or repeated sections so it was as good as going to the proper version, and it was free!
Today, NSD I hope:
* Checked online banking, most recent Paypal withdrawal was there so transferred into joint savings a/c.
* Post bag to Ebay buyer - forgot yesterday but cheque was only paid in yesterday anyway so she won't be expecting it.
* Bargain soup (same as yesterday) for lunch, and tea is value pasta, tom puree, value peas, dried basil and pepper - v v cheap! Breakfast was muesli from Quality Save with reduced almost OOD milk. Snacks are HM flapjack and an apple BF got from work's fruit bowl yesterday!
* Going to the pictures tonight but will be free as I have a part time job in a cinema and can get free tickets!
Then home to watch Heroes and see what that naughty Sylar is up to
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
