Yeah the new guidelines on Medised is because parents were using it to drug their children every night and paracetamol in large doses like that can wreck a child's liver.

erin once had a broken finger (caught it in a door) and i didn't take her to A&E until a week later upon the advice of a friend.... not that there was much they could do for her by then....

(to be fair i had taken her to the GP surgery at the time, and they dressed it but didn't suggest an xray...)

poor kid must've been in agony..!

The worst part was having the hospital social worker come for a chat...! but i suppose in this day and age, should be glad we were seen, albeit it wasn't required in this instance... but you'd hate to think of a little one who had been hurt by a grown up getting missed after being treated at A&E...

The flaw with the new guidelines is that those of us who don't abuse our children suffer, and those that do will buy medised and lie about it anyway :rolleyes:

touch wood, i have never had a social worker feel the need to visit....although I am surprised my son was so clumsy....

However, I have had a psychiatric nurse out to assess me as a fit parent!!!

The doctor did apologise afterwards...I wouldn't mind but the woman who came out to see me was clearly barking, couldn't have kids and looked anorexic. I ended up making her feel better...

Ooh poor Erin, that HURTS - I did it four times - car doors twice, front doors twice. Not broken though - touch wood I have never broken anything - oh god I am so going to slip and break my leg at lunchtime for saying that, aren't I?!

Edit: do you think if I did they'd let me stay in hospital for a while?

well everyone here will be impressed that i have spent £0 on xmas this year absolutely nothing nada zilch.
How?? i hear you all ask, well due the severely bad and i mean baaad attitude of all 3 kids, my house remain undecorated, and there will be no xmas here this year,
unless they make a radical turnabout, which seeing that this am they threw my coat at me and said move it we are going to be late for school, they got out the car without so much as a thanks, goodbye kiss my bum nothing.
I have ven overheard 9yr old stating that im only around to serve them, not said in jest either.

so sod em im on a strike, they wanna ea,t they cook it they want clean clothes, they clean em, and so on and so forth, all their prezzies have been put away , and no decs are coming out, perhaps they shock of telling their friends that they got absolutely nothing this year, will make them realise that im not kidding this time, last night overheard DD1 say to DS that "she will cave, she always does, she is sooooo weak, so just ignore her". weak am i?? well we will see come 25th

oooops sorry for the rant, but im am sooo sick of the lot of them, and even though i love them, i also hate them, and if i could walk away i would, they have redused me to tears for the last time, just to be told, to stop being silly, and this from my children, whom supposed to love me like i them, god help me when they hit puberty.

when i have asked their friends do they love their mums, all of them always say yeah but my lot when asked by either me or anyone else say no, but im handy to have around for the time being

oooops there i go again ranting and crying, sorry didnt know where to put this tirade,

Good for you sweetie... you stand your ground and dont let noone walk on you. The saying they dont know what they have till its gone may ring true
