Morning chaps and chappess' - you've started without me this morning  and a special wave to dearest mickey :hello:, we've missed you. Work just gets in the way of fun sometimes.... still, I don't want to think about work today!

I've just eaten a bowl of porridge and am now having a cup of coffee, whilst I giggle over the thought of hamster's neighbours nerves

I'll be off to see the Captain in while, I wonder how cold it is out there, I should take him out on a hack, but it takes so long for me to defrost afterwards. Actually, I need to check to see if the hunt's in the vicinity, if it is we're not going out.... hamster you'd love the thought of me careering out of control with the hunt :rotfl:Unfortunately, it has happened!

Hey Piq ~ have been reading (and laughing :rotfl: ) your diary still. Sorry your job seems unsettled at the moment, I know a few people that are facing losing their jobs :(. Hope you're not one of them.

Loving all the horse stories, makes me miss riding but I just can't afford to do it at the moment. Have recently got back in touch with an friend on FB, she has a black horse called Diamond. She'd try to kill you in the stable, try to take a chunk out of your arm as you walked past but as soon as you were on her, she'd turn into the sweetest horse. She'd try to please so much. She's getting on a bit now, bless her but am going to visit her soon.

Thanks tigzem, good to see you again!

My job is under threat, but I'm not thinking about it today. It's the weekend - hurrah!!!

Diamond sounds lovely, well, apart from the killing in the stable bit...it's unfortunate, but horses are expensive, Captain's livery costs as much as my mortgage, shocking....

We avoided the hunt, finding the hunt when you are out hacking is very scary indeed  I'll tell you the story of the one and only time we accidently joined the hunt another day!

Hacked yesterday, but it was so cold today, I chickened out and did some schooling in the indoor school. Just as well really as the Captain was a complete fruit loop because of the snow and wind!

    weekend update

Not a lot goes on financially at the weekend, my online banking doesn't bank, so I have no figures to work with. Both yesterday and today have been zero spends. I did the weekly food shop and came in £10 over budget, annoying...Looking at the receipt, I've been careless and picked up organic cheese instead of ordinary, grapes because I really fancied them and a couple of BOGoffs. Still, it's not the end of the world...

Just made flapjacks using up the end of the muesli, they'll be scrummy with yogurt for breakfast. Prepared a large pot of veggie chilli for the slow cooker, nice and easy for when I'm frozen after riding in the evenings!

Flapjacks work very well with yogurt as a portable breakfast, not that there's much of that going on today! I try to take food to work that doesn't involve work's bowls, plates or microwave. The germs are the only thing work will give you and the way things are going we'll be having the cost of those deducted from our salaries soon!

So far I've cleared the ironing pile, probably the first time for at least six months :o made some brioche dough to put in the freezer for next week's breakfasts. Just about to make some butterscotch and pecan muffins as I have masses of brown sugar and pecans in the cupboard. Might make some ginger biscuits at the same time to use up the oven whilst it's on!
