((Hugs))) to everyone, especially Taplady's friend, Lesley, and also Bargain RZL's friend.

PenPin - hope you're feeling better today.

Beth -so sorry about the rabbits.

I posted quite late yesterday evening to say that LO has now been moved from one hospital to another and that they were planning to take her off the ventilator. We hope to hear more this evening but, once again, thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. They are really appreciated.

DH is still at home painting windows - and interrupting me, as usual - so I'm finding it hard to get some time to myself. I will be collecting DGD from school later and then we'll be making Christmas cards and friendship bracelets, so I'm looking forward to that.

Dinner is chilli with rice using mince with lentils, and tinned tomatoes and kidney beans that were left over and frozen from the last time; they've been defrosting this morning. Have no idea what pudding is going to be - haven't had time to think about it. Probably an apple because I can't be bothered to do anything now.

The day started lovely and sunny but the skies are darkening so something is on the way.

Hope all is well - I haven't had time to read the thread properly today but will try later.

    KathyXX

Washing is out on the line outside and a loaf that I made in the Panny is cooling nicely.

Might do pork with roast potatoes in the Remoska and cook sprouts on the hob to go with it.

Meant to write Christmas cards today but could not get motivated to do it.

Got a lovely surprise as DH was supposed to be working in Hong Kong in January and I was really going to miss him - the trip has been cancelled!!!:j

Going to par boil potatoes and prepare veg ready for DD(14) to get home.

Mioliere/tired mum - many thanks for your thoughts for my friend. She is not a very close friend, but somebody who I really care about. She is in her 60s and has been being treated for ovarian cancer and secondary cancers since early this year. At first everything looked very bleak, then she responded far better than anybody expected to chemo and surgery. Whenever I speak to her these days (or mutual friends who are closer to her than I am) it's a different story each time - sometimes she's had really good news, sometimes bad, more often just ominous ("they need to investigate such-and-such that they found on the last scan"). It doesn't look likely that she'll beat it but it would be great if she gets a couple more years with a decent quality of life. She has at least had some periods of reasonable health in the past few months, and has been able to get out to a few concerts and shows recently, which she loves :)

(((hugs))) to you Betheebee - poor rabbits. How awful.
Sky dark here and kind of reddish too. Rain started but very cold.
HM soup for tea tonight and then some frozen fish and veg.
Need to get a move on and do some batch cooking for Christmas period so that I can relax and enjoy family here. Still, DD and DS will do some cooking too, so that will be nice.
So cold at night now that I've resorted to bed socks. I tried warming my feet on tolerant DH last night but it wasn't enough.

lol Glad, I bet you found some great thing googling the wool.
I've found out why BOW has been in tears all week, her DS who is 32 & still living at home is going up to London on his own tonight, well with 17 work colleagues in a coach, & she's frightened he'll get lost, she want's to go with him but he won't let her!
    Have a good evening.
    Hugs Hester

  • Just popping in as I'm trying to declutter. Who has heard the news about Robertson's Jam being phased out? This means your mincemeat for mince pies will go as well people! If anyone is as annoyed as me I shall be writing a letter to the head office about this. If they don't spend any money publicising it of course the sales will go down - idiots..... Anyone with me? Right, off to compose a suitable missive.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Evening all,

Been a cold day here, and just as I was collecting dd, freezing rain  , my feet are freezing. Still home now, and the heating has just clicked on so will soon warm up.

Minty chops are in the sc and smell divine, will put the spuds on for mashing in a bit. We also have cabbage, corgettes carrots and peas.

Finished my cards today, and have posted the ones that need posting, just the hand deliverd ones now, most of which are at work, so will get them done tomorrow :T . Will sit down next week and do a menu plan for over Xmas, and see what I need to buy.

Rzl, sorry to hear about your friend, I will keep her in my thoughts, along with Lesley, Tristian, Catz friend and the little one, so much bad news at the moment, it makes you want to make the most of every moment, hugs to you all xx

Beth how sad about the rabbits, hugs to you all x

Hester :rotfl: :rotfl: at Bow, poor boy :o

Bargainbird, so glad you got the result you wanted xx

Have good evenings all, and keep warm xx
