Hi El....glad you've found out that his leg is shorter than the other.I would insist that I saw a podiatrist if I was him...it'shis right to have the right treatment.Surely it would be hard to buy the correct insole from a shop(if there is a shop that you can buy them from)....as they have to have the right size on them.
Your house seems like it's coming on.
I don't blame you leaving in May as planned..you can't go on zapping your energy on a job you hate.0 -
Nice to see you about El and glad to hear your spring clean is coming along a song.
I feel sorry for Mr.El having to put up with an incompetent GP..what on earth is that chap playing at? A referral is definately in order.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
ooo i disappeared off to work came home this morning to some lovely messages ...thanks....
dragon i will inform her you are after hypno ...i deff think she enjoys it ...seems to feed her sadistic side lol ...
yes taxi i was thinking that about the insole as well ...i think he would have to buy two or three to get the height ..i deff think he is better off going to a podiatirst ...did i mention ( i cant remember if i did or not) the dr is referring him for some C.B.T hubby says he thinks the dr thinks it is all in his head but he says he doesnt care aslong as they can take the pain away he would be willing to try anything ...but i think he should go to the podiatrist anyway ...3 cms can make a difference over the years ...i think i will insist ...and yes i have actually started counting down for when i leave ...34 shifts wow feels so good to say that
bob i read a bit of your diary the other day is everything ok hun ? i noticed you are still having those issues with the agency ...hubby keeps talking about changing gp but i think he is to scared to while he is under treatment...think he wants to wait for a break in his treatment ...but i think it is getting to the stage of saying go for it ...it has been a catalogue of incompetance for him for so long now ....
kitchen day today ....oo la la i cant wait ...i am so enjoying this getting rid of rubbish0 -
Hi El ... just on the CBT side of things, there's a lot of modern work with CBT based on mindfulness meditation to help with controlling pain ... there's a book called "Full Catastrophe Living " (dreadful title) by Jon Kabat-Zinn, who runs a stress reduction programme at the University of Massachusetts, working on pain, stress, anxiety and illness. Its v academic, not a pop psychology thing, but its really good, and the practice sounds helpful.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

thanks Karma ...as i say he says he is willing to try anything ...if it is in his head he wants it out ...to be pain free is like a dream for him ...to be honest i do think though it is also physical ...maybe not all of it but i can actually see his back twitching and spasming ...i dont think he is that good that he can spasm or twitch his back at will...but i will look out for the book thanks...
right whats this all about we have a new debt free diary board ....arrrggghhhh0 -
Hi El, how's the kitchen?! What is next on the agenda? Have you sorted a date for her to come to mine yet?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Ug, it sounds so painful - but El, using mindfulness doesn't mean its all in his head - even when the source of pain is very real, using a mind technique can help coping. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply otherwise.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hypno next weekend we are having a weekend off hubby and i have some training with the red cross ...but the weekend after it is the garage then it is the shed then we are done ...till i mention last night i love my kitchen ...i mean it is soooooo clean we have chucked so much stuff out ...i have found it easier and easier with every room to be honest ...i think just the down stairs got to me the most ...but then i had to put my things away as the room is gonna be for someone else ...the rest of the house we are still using so i havnt had to get rid or put away anything i didnt want to ...my kitchen is clean did i say that lol
karma sorry i didnt mean to have you think i thought you meant that ...it is more what mr el has got into his head than anything else ...i have tried h ypnotherapy on him but to be honest i think he has problems with me doing hypnotherapy for him.....my friend says that her hubby has the same problem working with her hubby ...hypno how do you go with yours? ...if c.b.t helps i think he will be glad ...we are slowly trying to change alot of things for him for instance buying a new mattress just incase (that has helped a wee bit) buying tens machines ( he does get some relief from that as well) i am doing a massage course ( use him to practice on he seems to find that helps as well) and reiki hubby really enjoys this he feels it really helps ...i also now make him sit on the suite ...he loves sitting on the floor but that doesnt support his back enough (not the way he sits anyway) so everytime i see him heading for the floor i check him (i'm like a school mistress) and tell him to get up ....all these wee things are helping he is much better than he was ...but still not pre accident health ..neither am i but i think i am as good as i will get
did i say my kitchen was clean ...
right i had better get on i have girls coming today for massages ...it's a girl in class with me she has asked a few of our friends round and we are gonna have a massage session to get the kinks out i think0 -
