Recieved my paper application (no linked ac, so no 2nd email) 21st Nov - returned 23rd. Leavin' ftb (bigger than fscs limit, thanks Al;))for maturity mid Jan, rather than lose 6weeks interest or more; and waiting few hundred from easy access ac.

    Still waiting here.
Power of attorney accounts not able to be processed electronically.
No paper application sent out despite assurances that it would be received by 4/12.
When you do send your form, they will ask to see the PoA, but make sure you only send a copy, not the real thing; they obviously have a chimp operating the letter-opener and mine came back sliced into about eight pieces - all neatly sellotaped together!
  • Just before Landsbanki defaulted I tried stop regular payments going into my "Easy Access" account but had problems doing this. The only way to sort it out, as advised by Icesave, was to delete my linked account. Obviously I was a bit hasty but I suppose I panicked like thousands of others did! I sent in my paper application a couple of weeks ago but haven't received compensation yet. Thanks to MSE Dan for thinking of the few who are still waiting.
  • Hello all,

I am still waiting for 2nd email, phoned FSCS on 4th as per messages and attempted to initiate claim but that was a no go.

Telephoned FSCS who tell me my claim is in the "pipeline" but I feel as though I am just being fobbed off with pat responses.

Can't understand why there is a problem, my linked account is still linked.

Really don't know where to go from here. I feel that the FSCS have given a lot of false info out to the media, my gut instincts are telling me they are not as on top of the job as they are making out.

hoping to get it soon. they did not send us the 1st e mail and took me a while to chase it, have now had it shortly folowed by 2nd e mail and have initiated claim, will need the paperwork to put it into another isa though.

don't believe we would have had the mails if we had not triggered them ourselves but to be honest i am just pleased we will get the money back - it's my only savings!
MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!
  • If this is how the FSCS operates when a small outfit goes under then god help us if one of the majors goes belly up. There is no way they could cope. After the dust settles on this one, someone in there needs to take a good look at they way they operate and at the very least introduce some form of communication with their customers.

It's very disturbing to read that some fortunate people have even received their ISA certs when others haven't had any communication at all.

Just not good enough, there needs to be some serious butt kicking.
