Today I've managed to lose £720 over the course of the next year :(:(

Realised that the Student Loans Company were not taking payments and I now have to pay them £60/mth from the end of the month.

    Damn-blast-damn!

I'm not really the handiest with handmade gifts... I have a bad habit of spending more money on materials than I would have on a cheap gift.

    I'll get there.

No, i don't do home made gifts either, if i did i'd have to say the children made them as they would look awful!:rotfl:

Hope you feel better soon Tallie, sending you postive get well thoughts.

Edinburgher, what a kick in the teeth, that must be disheartening.

    Hi all,
Bathgatebuyer, sorry to hear your news.
    Andan, long list as always
Tallie, hope you feel better soon.
I’m a bit earlier than usual but that’s because I’m working from home today.
    My dfw things for today:
    • Received Ecover stickers, £3 total of money off coupons :T
    • Received a free thing for the shower
    • Returned item and got refund for DH
    • Tk Maxx – got DH a shirt reduced to £8 for his X’mas and a mini waistcoat for myself also reduced to £8 :D
    • Used £3 in money off coupons in Asda
    • I packaged up/My mum posted off Ebay item I sold yesterday
    • Washing done at 40 deg (DH’s stuff he had been cycling in had been sitting in my car for a couple of days) and hanging indoors
    • My mum superglued 3 broken items for me :T :A
    • Got DS new black plimsoles? from Woolworths for £1.40 (after the 20% discount), assume this is cheaper than Asda who didn’t have his size in stock anyway, he has outgrown his current ones
    • Did mutual points e-mail click through
    • Reduced price of Ebay listing by another 10p as it only has one day to go and no buyers.

To be honest, having a rotten day. My Mum's cousin died last week of a brain tumour and the funeral is tomorrow. Have since heard of someone else who dropped dead last week. I've been told I don't need to go to the funeral (as it's the other side of the country), but it really does make you realise that there are more important things at this - or any other - time of year than money. Sometimes we all tend to forget that.

((hugs)) Sorry to hear your bad news, sometimes it takes a reminder to make us appreciate what is really important in life. XX

Afternoon all, been a horrible wet, rainy day today :(
On the plus side, it made me want to just run around the town as quick as possible and put me off wandering around spending money that didn't have to be spent!

    So today I have:

Checked bank accounts - nothing needing moved about this week
Done LOTS of washing - on the 4th wash now, everything drying on airers
Bought and started writing Xmas cards - bought some reduced ones and some nice charity shop ones :)
Added some change to Sealed Pot - my pot has a counter on the tp, so mot so exciting when I come to opening it at the end, but great motivation to keep me going, as I know how much I'm saving! Sitting at £36.50 at the moment :D
Passed by my favourite little cafe today at lunchtime - had storecupboard cuppa-soup instead (and I'm sure it tasted just as good as my pasta and wedges from the cafe would have!! :P)
Going to parents house for dinner tonight - no food spend today!

On the down side, I'm going out to the theatre tonight, which I'm very much looking forward too, but will not be very MSE I fear. Tickets already paid for, so only food and drinks to get tonight - going to try and be good!! :)
    LBM - 1/12/08 - Debt £13250
DFD - Nov 2013 - WILL be sooner!!
    Sealed Pot Challenge - No 415 - £112.41/£250
    Ebay Challenge - No 10 - £300/£500
    SLP Challenge - No 12 - £7.83/£50
  • well, today I have committed to have 15 nsds this month with today being the first.
Remembered to do my daily clicks
Checked my internet purchases tracked on quidco
    Checked online banking
Ate packed lunch and homemade pancakes

Tonight I will apply bank charges using financial hardship rule
Clear my dining table of paperwork and file everything in neat order
apply for financial harship award through university course (not having that second job is a killer)

Long enough list for today if you could see my table!!!!

    • Filled up car with petrol that was budgeted for
    • Checked online banking
    • Had a browse of the different boards in the forum..it's safe to say I like some a lot more than others! DFW is by far the friendliest, although OS seems lovely too:A
    • Spending rest of evening back in bed
Hope everyone is OK, sory for miserable post. I'm just glad this board exists...it always makes me feel better!
