Norton Blade - lucky you with 2 weeks off for Christmas - I only get Christmas day and Boxing day which fall on my usual 2 days off

The reason I'm so excited is because this hasn't been the case for about six years... I've worked in numerous shops and a hotel in that period so it's a busy time - I even had to work Christmas day last year! :)

Morning All :hello: I have had no internet ALL weekend  it meant I couldn't Skype Popeye :(:( and he'd been on the road all week so we'd had little contact, just e-mail. All I could get from Virgin was a recorded message that there would problems until 6pm.......couldn't speak to anyone, there's no support at the weekend

    But I'm here now. :o

Taplady I adored my tightwad gazette, a lot of the ideas Popeye mocked, he hated me washing and drying sandwich bags for eg. (I use a plastic box now, so no need) Many of them didn't apply and others have become ingrained habits :rotfl:

    So today I have/will
    • make a list of everything that has to be done before I fly away in 2 weeks time :smileyhea
    • go to the gym
    • clicks and surveys
    • spend the £5 Amazon voucher I earned on Juicy Brains to get the DVD Popeye has asked for.
    • charge phone at work
    • washing on at 30 and line dried
    • update my on-line banking and my spreadsheets when I get home tonight as I'm sure the internet will be working by then.......
    • make a loaf in the BM
    • hang the shed doors and also try and fix up the set of hooks that is going to tidy my dessing table by hanging my necklaces up. :D
    • would have been a NSD but my bread was too stale to make a sandwich......I'll try and keep it low.
I think I need to re-think my goals. I'm jogging along gently, but if I made an effort I could get rid of this debt faster.....
  • Looking at some balance transfer options on credit cards to see if I can transfer the balance of my RBoS card to someone else (presently paying 21.9% on £1,980). My credit score has gone from 'very poor' to 'fair' in the past calendar year, so I'm hoping that I may be able to transfer to another card. Bit scared to apply in case I'm rejected and I end up with a fruitless search on my record, but I'll try and see what's being said on the various forums and things;
    Will do some comps later.

To be honest, having a rotten day. My Mum's cousin died last week of a brain tumour and the funeral is tomorrow. Have since heard of someone else who dropped dead last week. I've been told I don't need to go to the funeral (as it's the other side of the country), but it really does make you realise that there are more important things at this - or any other - time of year than money. Sometimes we all tend to forget that.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Hello lovely people, hope you're not feeling as cold as me.

Day started off well with the sale of a book on amazon that I'd only put on there last night.
    Checked banking
Checked my ebay items that I put up for sale at the weekend -one already at £10, hurrah!
Will be slicing some pie and tolunaing later
    Signed up for Yougov surveys
    brought packed lunch
    Ate breakfast at home

Sadly will have to spend at lunchtime but it's all ina good cause - going to Jane Asher to buy a few things I need to make a commisioned cake for this weekend, which will be another £40 in the coffers.

Bathgatebuyer that's really sad, I'm so sorry to hear your news. You are right about there being more important things than money, but it doesn't make things any better for you today.

    Thinking of you
