It was glorious all weekend here and I was surprised it was busy.Perhaps people are getting on with their lives instead of panicking about the recession...long may it continue.

Hi all...hope you are all ok.
I've not been on here as not a lot to report really.I've just been juggling the finances about asmy Virgin 0% card runs out in July and still has a large balance on it!!!
I have the money to pay my A+L card off sat here so am just waiting for the bill to come in and will pay that off.
I applied for a 0% post office card last week but got turned down!!!...I was shocked at that so phoned them to find out why and they said it was to do with my credit report with experian..so I checked it....I'm only using 25% of available credit and there is nothing wrong with my report.

Thats confusing, taxi. Do experian give you an actual score? Hope you can sort it.

So I got to thinking ...that maybe because I have a lot of credit available that might be the problem....I'm not going to chase 0% deals anymore but I'm not going to pay 20% or whatever to MBNA either!!!....
I had a barclay platinum card...nil balance £8700 available and barclay cashback card £4600 available and nil balance..so thought I'd try to transfer the Virgin to the platinum card at 6.9% LOB rate....
So rang barclays and asked if I had any offers on platinum card...they said NO so I said I want to cancel in...they said ok and it was closed in a FLASH!!!!!!....so I said you might as well cancelmy other card then as well and he said I had the ofeer of 0% until october or 6.9 LOB rate but that I had to spend £25 p/mon the card to get...must think I'm stupid if I'm getting to let that accumulate interest behind the LOB transfer so told him to cancel it.....He then put me through to someone else who then asked why I wanted to cancel and when I told them she has sorted it out ...apparently they are sending me a new card as the last one is shredded and the letter with the code on that I have to ring back and do the tranfer with and upped the limit on the cashback card ..not enough to cover the whole amount but I will be able to transfer £5200 so will pay the rest off before July ....
Then will cancel the virgin card...
so feel a bit better about that....would've preferred a new 0% card but they are getting harder to get I think.
Work is going ok as well at the moment as well...

Hi KC...you can pay for a credit score but that's there score..lenders can score you differently.
The normal credit report online gives you the facts and figures of how much of your credit that's available to you is used..how many searches etc etc are on your file...all the stuff for the last 6 years.

I empathise with you over there as your government is making a complete hash of it.I guess we'll be getting the same treatment here shortly as well.

Ditto what Taxi said to you Shaun.
I agree about the credit score bit and have no patience with Experian after my run in with them about lack of customer service, although credit where it is due the person who i spoke too sorted it out quickly.

Glad to see you are still on the ball Taxi and a LOB transfer was something probably better than a 0% in the long run.
