  • Hope you sort those banks out Hypno - we deal with Barclays at work and they are so useless it's unreal!

Barclays and Egg will get sorted......somehow!

Have done some more Christmas shopping, courtesy of nectar points and pigsback vouchers.....:D Not too much more to do. I have about £12 of Morrisons stamps, so need to find something in there (!) for FiL - it will probably be a combination of socks and biscuits as I am very much lacking in inspiration there, and I have about £6 in boots points that I can still use.....

I still need to get DD's phone, but that will have to wait until payday on Friday, and a voucher for my sister, which again I will get on Friday. Then, I think I am done!

Lazy, El, is not a word I would use to describe you!

Yes, Christmas has been reasonably well organised as I did some buying throughout the year when I saw things cheap etc, and put them in the cupboard. I have tried to keep things as reasonably priced as possible, and with the exception of a new phone for DD and a present for OH that I have been saving up for, I have managed to do it all without spending a great deal, thanks to vouchers, points, mystery shops (great when they send you to Lakeland and force you to spend money that you will get back on expenses!) and the like!

So, although my Christmas hasn't been completely done for free, it is not far off, really! Thank you MSE!!!

    Afternoon Hypno and all,
Sorry to hear that you've had trouble with Barclays as well as Egg..they are unbelievable some of these firms. If they've put a late payment on yours they'll have done it to everyone of their customers no doubt.
I hope your day has improved since then.
    Happy birthday KC.

It is just a good job I am on top of my credit file - most people never look at theirs until they hit a problem getting a mortgage etc. I pay £5.99 every month to get alerts and it is well worth it.

Hmmmm egg cocked up taking my credit card payment recently. I changed bank accounts. They were informed by my new bank in plenty of time to update their Direct debit info... but they didn't bother! Argh....... When I phoned them (as they didn't reply to my secure message  ) they only stopped threatening me with late payment fees and grumping about breaking their terms and conditions when I pointed out they had broken the banking code. My statement is due tomorrow so I'll be checking it like a hawk for late payment fees. Do you know how long it takes for them to update the credit files? Is it once a month or more frequently? I bet they !!!! that up too...

I have to say that when Egg incorrectly put a default on my file (I hadn't so much as been late with a payment!) because of their computer error, they did correct it pretty quickly.

The DCA that they incorrectly appointed though to deal with my account took a little longer to get rid of!

  • afternoon all, morning El, :rotfl:

have just a couple of small bits left to get and the food. The cards still haven't written themselves.

Our work banks with Barclays business and their "fraud dept" bounced all our wage cheques earlier in the year. I don't trust my boss or them as soooo many different stories about it and co dd's being canc but then paid.

You give them a kicking, hypno, we're right behind you ( no panto jokes, pleeeeease!)
