Mine all has to be perfect too, which is why I get so stressed - My house is so un-perfect that my daughter reckons I have Christmas Tree OCD, because my pickiness on perfect only extends to the presents and the tree

Maybe this perfectionist streak is why you can't get on top of your house, if you can't or don't have time to get it 'perfect' then you don't have the motivation to do any or much of it? Just a thought as it has been known that perfectionism can lead to procrastination.

Although a plain and simple answer could also be that you don't have the time to do the housework and given what you write on here I can see why :D

absolutely - it makes perfect sense doesn't it?

I desperately want a tidy house, but I obviously don't want to put the effort in to get it. So that must mean I don't want a tidy house THAT much. Except I do. Aaarrghhh!!!

  • I love it when my house is super tidy, I just really can't be bothered either. We made snow today, with polystyrene, all over the living room, was fun, then I realised someone would have to tidy it up. Luckily we have 2 vacuums =)

Morning.....today I am hoping to get the rest of my jobs done as well as something moneymaking......not sure what yet, but I do feel as though I haven't raised any extra cash (apart from the bonus) for a while so need to get my thinking hat on too. If I can't do something moneymaking, I will look for something moneysaving instead.

Hope you all have a good day - I think DS is too tired to ski today, so once he has done his paper-round he will possibly come home and go back to bed - that would give me a little less running around today!

    Hi Hypno

Well, you wanted to do something money-earning, so thats okay .... it is really .... if you were good at housework too, you'd be perfect, and then you wouldn't need to post on here and we'd all miss you! So its okay! Go have another cup of coffee, and I'll join you :coffee:

Morning, KC - the kettle is on (again!).......

DD and DS have both come back from their paper rounds with Christmas tips already! So they are very happy. Getting them paper rounds has been one of the best things for them......they really enjoy earning their own money. I have never given them pocket money etc because of the amount we spend on skiing, so they have never had money to buy their own things unless they got money for birthdays etc. DD is also babysitting occasionally so is building up a nice amount in her money box as well as having been able to buy all her friends Christmas presents (pashminas from the £ shop - absolute bargain!), and buying a new "capsule" wardrobe (everything is black, so easy to co-ordinate!).

I am writing a blog thing for the download site, so I can get another thing taken off my list, and then I need to start on the house - the tree is not going up until downstairs is tidy......and I have a couple of admin type things that I want to get done. I have run out of ink in my printer, but if I email word documents to my work addy then I can print them off and send them out tomorrow which will be perfectly adequate.

Glad to hear the kettle whistling! Mini-hypnos sound like they're doing well today - and I know what you mean about needing the place tidy/clean before the tree goes up, with all the extras that then descend on the living room, its an absolute nightmare if its not already done & dusted.

I think I'd just like to waft quietly away to be one of those snowbirds you read about, living in a hotel on the costa del sol for £40 a week or something. I have a cold so am feeling very self-pitying today
