"
The UK's Food Standards Agency has said pork from the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland should not be eaten."
So pork from Northern Ireland - i.e. part of the UK so not Irish meat as displayed on produce - should also be avoided. Waitrose have withdrawn Paul Rankin sausages, etc.
My wife bought some cocktail sausages from Tescos today that merely has "produce of the EU" on the label and no advice that I could find on their website. Hmmmm...0 -
just back from the local garage .Galtee bacon still on sale ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

Are Richmond sausages made from Irish meat? I know it says Irish recipe but not sure if they are safe to consume
It looks like they're on the banned list. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article5303184.ece0 -
What 'banned list'. That article says the FSA are still waiting to hear if pig meat from the Republic & NI was used in leading brands such as Walls, Richmonds etc. It does not say they are banned.
Anyone hear anything about Cookstown's sausages??0 -

Just checked the poek medallions I have in the freezer from the Lidl BOGOF offer a few weeks ago. It's from France, so don't have to bin it.0

Anyone know if the 'tractor' logo can be put on products from Norn Ireland? It's on some Tesco sausages in my freezer. Also got some casseroles in there made from Paul Rankin sausages. So much for being organised - unlikely to get my money back either. How would Tesco's know what sausages I've used. Fed up.0

Problem is, nobody knows how bad or widespread the problem is. Is it a case if you have the odd sausage & bacon Butty every week it could be a problem or is it a case of you'd need to be eating 6 sausages per day every day for the next 6 months to get levels of the toxins that would be harmful. I know the FSA are taking the right precautions but the media are typically blowing it out of all proportion... I for one will not be changing my eating habits... I can't imagine the toxins in the pork would be any more dangerous than crap you would breath in on a daily basis when walking through the streets of Belfast, Dublin, London, Birmingham, or any other conjested, massive, industrial city...Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0

I was in Subway yesterday and they couldnt sell me the sub of the day because they had withdrawn some of the sausages (it was Spicy Italian - sob) and pepperoni from sale. Partner went to another one and was able to buy sub of the day. Seems to be total confusion and inconsistency - what is going on and how can we find out?!Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T0
