Lidl Thermostatic Shower £14.99

Brought home the Lidl leaflet today and saw that on Thursday 19 th they have the taps and shower mixers etc. I bought the thermostatic shower last time they were on sale and its really good . You never need to adjust it, just turn on and the water stays at a constant temp. These are a real bargain, just go and see what they they cost in B and Q. (Note: This is too far ahead to be on the Lidl web site).

What did you have to do to instal it? I was led to believe that it was pretty complex, especially now with all the health and safety gestapo, and the upcoming house sales info packs that we will have to pay hundreds for.

You will probably need a plumber to do the work unless you can solder pipes. However, it just connects to your hot and cold water supply. I run it off a combi bolier. It is not an electric shower that you must have a qualifed electrican to install. This sort of shower is only as good as the output of your hot water heating system.

To give you an idea of how good a bargain this is the lowest price similar shower in B&Q is £99.98. When I told the builder who was working on my house at the time when I bought it, he could not believe the price. In fact he was so impressed he went and bought two himself !!

Depends if it is suitable for high pressure?

Just use speedfit fittings. Ive just completely replumb my bathroom using them and ive no plumbing experience at all. Litterally push-click plastic fittings. Safe, quick and no leaks.
  • To get an idea of how much of a bargain this is, see the price of this one from Grohe, which looks remarkably similar to me!
