Lizzak - Poor little soul no wonder he's not eating probably doesn't know how! I'm sure tho' with lots of love & good care you'll get him right - keep up the good work & do let us know how you get on.

I'd report the person who sold him to you if only to get the others kittens away from them.

Yep - we reported the person we got Fudge from...6 weeks, my bum. Try 4. Worst bit is the RSPCA called us back 2 months ago and said "is it still the same?"

I exploded at them..."HOW THE F... would I know that??? I called YOU to report them, because there were other kittens there, you idiots.."..I despair.

Still...we got Fudge out, and no harm done.

Let me see if I've still got "then and now" pics..

http://www.jemjabella.co.uk/blog/on-fudge-and-calling-the-rspca <-- that's fudges story from my missus' site..you can see the state he was in, the blue kitten eyes, and the size of him Vs hex..

the pair of them..heh..best of friends.

Good luck with yours..if you need any advice, we're all here..:)

EDIT: Yes, hissing works...It stops Hex trying to batter the bedroom door down at 6am. "Hex, do one.." does NOT work. Mind you, I growled the other night, and they both ran off..heh.

I read this hint off a website, and I have to say it seems to work..if you blink slowly at the cat, it's supposed to be (in cat language) a sign of affection and calm them down a bit. If I do it to Hex, he tends to go to sleep..whereas fudge will come over and do the whole "headbutt and purr" act. Also if they're asleep on me, I get "knitted", and they both do the gentle momentary "squeeze" with their feet on my clothes..I assume it's a comfort and reassurance thing. I tend to do it back, very gently.

I'm not a cat person, honest. I have guinea pigs too..

Thanks for the update Lizzak - hope Gizmo is doing better today. I'm sure he will feel better once he's been de-fleaed and wormed.

And I agree that you should report the breeder to the RSPCA and LA Animal Warden (if you have one). I'd also knock their door and cause a scene asking for any money back that you paid as you have Vet bills to pay for. Not because you want the money back but to try and make the breeder realise that they can't just churn out kittens and make money from them.

I'd also contact your local CPL and see if they offer free neutering - then put them in touch with the breeder. It might work.

Any pics of little gizmo? We are all suckers for kitty pics! :D

Awww Thanks guys for all your help! I went back to the vets this morning so the vet could see how he was. He was so much better, but i had the shock of my life when she said gizmo was 4 weeks. Im discusted at the breeder but told the vet gizmo's better off with me, at least i can give him the love and care he needs to get better!

But i think the vet wants to see him every week to make sure he's ok. He's getting more confident which im so happy about, but mind youhe keeps trying to climb up my leather sofa!!!

I dont really want to talk to the breeder any more - not that he's answering his phone, not even bothered about getting my money back, i'd pay triple if i had to coz he's my little man!!

I would post pics but not sure how too!! some help would be appreciated on this

Upload the pics to your computer.

Set up an account at photobucket.com

Then it's a case of finding the file on your PC, and uploading it.

Once it's up loaded it will give 4 links to use, one says something like for Forums, it starts with an paste it into the thread and up the pic should pop. That's horrible that the kitty is only 4weeks, sounds like he starting to get adventurous though! Some people just don't care that the kitten isn't ready to be away from it's mummy.

  • Bless. He definitely looks unhappy in the first pic. Once you get him eating etc you'll be amazed at the change in him . Good Luck with everything. LCx

  • aww he teeny! He'll soon feed up though...ginger cats seem (in my experience!) to like their food! Naughty breeder but as you said he's better off with you - would report them to rspca - esp if theyre registerd breeders (although doubt they are lol!!)..

He's beautiful! I'm sooo jealous! I can see how you called him Gizzmo.

Daft to say but he looks brighter already & it looks from the size of his paws that he's going to be big one day & will no doubt boss your staffies.:rotfl:

    Thanks for the pics!
