Marbles calling me - what to do?

Marbles/HFC/Halifax whoever they are have passed my file, or rather SOLD my file, onto a company called Self Credit! Even though my case is at court. They had until 25th March to respond and I haven't heard anything from courts or them in regards to this.
Got a phone call from a girl this morning saying I was in breach of my account and needed to make a payment. I've told her under the banking code she cannot ask for payment while the account is in dispute, also they have sold my file which again they aren't allowed to do. I'm now on hold while she 'checks something'.
She also informed me HSBC had my account for a brief while as well but I wasn't aware of this at all! I just got a letter saying RBS had taken over from Marbles.

Update: I phoned the court just now and they say Marbles have filed an acknowledgment of service and have until April 7th to respond.
Any feedback on this? Has anyone else got this far before and what happened?0 -
I have received a letter about my claim to Marbles saying that the Defendant has filed an Acknowledgment of Service on 25/03/09. This was the date they were due to respond by so they've left it to the last minute.
It says that the Defendant has responded indicating an intention to defend all of the claim. It says they have 28 days from the date of service to file a defence. Although when I rang the court today she said they had until April 7th.
Should I be worried about this?0 -
No, all perfectly standard0

Thanks Orford. I'll just have to wait and see what happens I suppose.

I have an ongoing claim with Marbles and I have today received the above in the post. I have to fill in a questionnaire.
Is this anything to worry about? Has anyone else had it go this far before? I really want this all finished.
If anyone can help me with the form I'd be very grateful. In the defence they are saying that the charges applied to my account were reasonable. How can they still be saying that? How is £50-£24 a month in charges reasonable? They are also saying they are not default charges and so cannot amount to a penalty. I'm not sure what they mean by this.
The defence has been signed by their legal executive with DG Solicitors called Jason Newbold.
I can scan in a copy of the letter if it helps.
Please can someone help? I'm worried that I won't be getting my money back

Thank you!
Is this a pretty standard response?0 -
I have received a letter today from the solicitors acting for Marbles about my claim. It is currently at 'questionnaire stage' through the courts after they filed a defence.
The solicitors are writing to offer me the full amount including my court fee, which is excellent. They want me to sign a statement saying I accept this payment as full and final settlement of my claim and they will then send me a cheque, leaving me with a more reasonable outstanding debt, which I plan to pay off later this month as I already have a default thanks to this company.
My question is: should I photocopy this letter before signing it and then send it recorded delivery? And also what do I tell the courts, should I phone them once I've received/cashed my cheque to notify them it's been settled?0 -

Yes (photocopy)
Maybe (rec delivery) - but a Cert of Posting is probably enough and over £1 cheaper
Yes (tell the court) - once you actually have the money0
