I was in woolies and they had reduced the gifts by p to 50% and many toys were 50% off, some slightly more.

I dont think they are staying open much longer as I heard 2 staff talking about what their next job would be when they left.

Gonna be at my Woolies bright and early, hope they have the JML stuff reduced, mum's after one of those bloody mini Nicer-Dicer food chopping thingies... she's already got the big one for goodness' sake :rolleyes:

I know we're all out for a bargain but I think we should also think about all the poor staff who could be out of a job so close to xmas. I know I certainly wouldn't like it.

Tell me about it Kazaimee, I was working in Lush as a christmas temp but got laid off for not badgering people quick enough.... gotta feel sorry for the Woolies staff who will get laid off though, at least I'm not struggling with a family or mortgage or anything...

I was in my local woolies at 6.30pm tonight and they were putting up all the posters and signs saying up to 50% off everything in store - a lot of stuff was already reduced - towels,bedding,photo frames etc mainly but also some toys. They had big plastic boxes with things in for 50p, £1 and £2. Loads of socks on sale too. We bought a throw reduced to £12 and some barbie stickarounds reduced to £1. I asked the sa if the toys would be in the same and she said she thinks there's going to be 20% off them but she wasn't sure.

I phoned the former Big W in Filton, Bristol just now and they guy said they hadn't heard anything about a sale tomorrow.

I don't see anything wrong in the staff putting back stuff for themselves, they have lost their jobs suddenly and deserve any perks that they can get. I think it's a great thing on their part that they can still smile and go to work quite honestly - well done Woolies staff.

Ive been told from a worker in woolworths that the BLACKPOOL bank hey street one is opening at 8.30 and everything is half price.. I will be there i think coz id hate to miss out... Il let you all know..
