Overall I was a little disappointed with the sale, but did manage to get a few things including cards (50% off) & a really cute iggle piggle soap dish in the shape of a boat (50% off meant £2.50). Best bargain was a gorgeous new coat for my little girl that started off at £24, was reduced to £12 then with the 20% off came out at £9.60, it even has little mittens attached, so that's her all snuggly warm during these cold months.

Mums - all schoolwear is 50% off, so you might want to check that out.

To the people who actually believed that you were going to get half price TV's and Xbox's I have this to say........:rotfl:

  • I hope you've taken this out of context - and that the vultures referred to are the creditors of the company - not the bargainhunters like us:eek:

I think that is what they meant - I didn't think it was about us bargain hunters.

very disappointing. a lot of things had gone up in price - such as the paint your own stuff and not on 3 4 2 now. :( also the big W on sheffield parkway has had clearance stuff for ages but now things are more expensive! not worth the bother. shame i love woolies
  • Basildon was a nightmare, but people were actually being civilized! It was difficult to move around with my double buggy, but I didn't see anything that was 50% off, although saying that I did buy a Muppets Christmas DVD (for my husband!) that was only £1.50. Think the friends and family discounts may have been better, because they had 3 for 2 on then as well.

as others have said a bit dissapointing BUT there are still bargains to be had

I picked up boxed xmas cards 30% off
    single greeting cards 50% off
    50% girly gift
50% off carmen straightner gift set
    30% off xmas decs

some of the shelve prices are wrong and i found the decs to be half price at the till and then got a further 30% off.

  • Most of my local store was 20% off but all the deals from last week had been removed. Clever way to get people in though, the place was packed and people were buying judging by the length of the queues.

I bought woolies stuff (mostly toys) when it was on 3 for 2, or with the 20% voucher and got stuff aleady reduced. Would definatly have cost me more today.

    Very Dissapointed

The best buy i got was a luxury chocolate faux throw, was meant to be £50, with 20%off however went through the till at £12 :D

Called in the Prescot woolies this morning, big signs on the windows and throughout the store had drawn loads of people in , but it was pretty rubbish.
