  • There were only a few things for 50% off in Lewisham (SE London). I got 2 Black and Decker Dustbusters (20%) and a glitter lamp which was half price. There were Dove gift packs at 50% off too. Can't remember what else.

Many things are 30% off - I bought a couple of diaries. Calendars were 30% off too. Lots of household things are 20% off. (Including a small flat screen TV, DVD players and I think, freeview boxes - didn't look too closely though)

Video games etc were 10% off, and toys were (I think) 20% off.

I think that people have got a bit carried away with the words "50% off" - forgetting those magic words "up to" that go before it.

Rubbish in my local store too. Got one gift set at half price but most of it was tat. Much better deals were on with the 3 for 2.
  • woolies in poole was fun.
loads of poeple rushed to the games section then looked deflated when it said only 10% lol. loads looked like they left straight away.moaning that it wasnt 50% off.
spend £92 got loads of stocking fillers got loads of highschool musical stuff which was 50% off.
and even better was a high school musical microphone brush set the should have been £13 but went through at £4 plus 10% off so that was a bargain.

think people have got carried away espcecially the two people at the front who started arguing when they were about to open the doors lol.though i was gonna see my first fight at a sale.

even my misses didnt realise the signs said up to 50% off until i pointed it out but like she said that bit was in small print unlike the rest.

i suppose you could look at it that we saved about £34 and spent money that we may have spent elsewhere but wouldnt have got the 10/20/30/50% of the various items we did buy.
  • well i enjoyed that! I spent £18 and got the following

    Foot Spa - 50% off - £5
    Large Makeup Selection - 50% off - £3
    Hip Flask Gift Set - 50% off - £2.50
    Manicure Set - 50% off - £2
    Support Cushion - 20% off - £3.70
    ITNG Squashy Washy - 50% off - £2

Mum's getting the foot spa and the hip flask and make-up set are going to the other halfs brother and his fiancee.

I feel sorry for the staff losing there jobs but theres nothing we can do about it. Remember people on here are single parents/in debt/ have low income etc so i dont think theres anything wrong with grabbing a bargin- some people are trying to do more than just survive, they want to have a little luxery too (often not for themselves, but just for their kids).

I am currently unable to work due to illness, so i am living on very little money. If a company is selling something that i need and they are going bust then im gonna grab it.

When i was working and when im able to work again i do hunt around for a bargin, but i wont bother to queue up for hours on end to get into a shop to look at stuff because i cant really be bothered and i can afford not to. But when people dont have the luxery of making that choice then they shouldnt be slated for wanting to buy things that might bring a little bit of happiness to them.

This isnt really aimed at anyone, but i noticed some people were having a go at others for trying to get a bargin

I went in this morning, ended up with a full basket could not believe my luck! Got to the check out stood and waited 20 minutes to be served only for all the stuff I had bought only reduced by 20%. I questioned it and as I had thought someone had put all the stuff I had in the wrong area and on an isle obvioulsy marked 50% off. The lady at the till was having none of my complaints but when I asked to speak to the manager (Who was ever so quick to pull down all the 50% signs from that isle) she agreed to let me have everything I had for 50% off.

    I did very well :)

Just back from my local - busy but not outrageously so.

Lots of students picking up cheap stationery items

Had a look round - thought I might buy the Xmas crackers but decided against it.
So ended up buying nothing so saved myself even more than 50%
