Get a plain egg carton (not sure whether you can get less than 6 egg size) but you don't have to fill them all with socks, could put easter choccies, chicks etc in it.
You could do a personalised Easter greeting on the top of box. You could even roll up the socks like rose buds:

Here is a pic of some Easter 'Creme Egg' chicks I have made ... the white wool is from Wilkinson's .. it has glitter threads through it. I have just managed to get some of the yellow eyelash long haired wool ... I will make some more chicks with that as I think they look much nicer and fluffier with the long haired wool.0

not really as it is just a plain stocking stitch pattern .. it's 99p a ball but it is often on offer 'buy one get one free' which is when I stock up on it. They don't do the yellow in Wilkinsons tho which is a shame ... I had to buy it on ebay.0

Love the egg box idea. I picked on up from the charity shop last year that had bath bombs in it - complete with straw...........lol Gave it to my friend for her birthday -should have kept it for easter..........I'll have to start hoarding egg boxes now along with all the other stuff:rotfl:Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
