A beautiful easter treat box http://andreawalford.com/?page_id=497

She grinch thanks for posting this circle treat box idea - it is lovely. Does anyone know the best way of cutting out these circles and where to get a template? Also has anyone made one of these - if so how difficult is it? It all looks a bit difficult to me!! I don't even know how to score with a trimmer - should I give up now!!! I'd love to have a go to use these for my daughter's party.

Thanks for your help and patience

Hi funnyfreckle, I'm not a cardmaker so the ladies that are may be able to give you different ideas. My own opinion would be to draw round a saucer or tea plate(MSE version of template) I only have a guillotine - it doesn't score, so I bought a bone scorer and folder(these were quite cheap) and just use a ruler, it works well. I've not used a trimmer scorer before so perhaps the ladies can help you with that. Ahhh don't give up, try with old scrap paper first, bet you'll surprise yourself.
Hope something I've said was useful, good luck - you can do it.

  • Soblivion thanks so much for your help and encouragement. Oh, what a simple soul I am - hadn't twigged that it was a trimmer! I only have a guillotine too and obviously didn't look at the picture properly. I shall pop along to Hobbycraft or somewhere similar and see if I can find a bone scorer and folder - that sounds like a good alternative. When I have time, I shall play around with a plate and see what happens.

    Thankyou very much

    Hi Everyone,

I've just read through the really helpful 167 posts, and followed numerous links, but I still can't find "THE ONE" idea!

I have a group of 40 girls (aged 11 - 16), most can't knit, some can sew (but not fast) and I only have them for an hour and a half tops. Can anyone think of a fabulous Easter craft that is kind of teenagery, kind of cool and doesn't involve huge amounts of knitting or sewing, and can be started and finished in the space of an hour (ish). Ha-ha, if that's not enough of a challenge, it needs to cost a maximum of about £2 per child and not be messy (otherwise I get shouted at!)

I've also scoured Baker Ross, but all their ideas are a wee bit young for my crowd - it needs to be a 'grown-up' craft to get them buzzing!!!

Thanks so much for any thoughts you might have

Do you have facilities to do baking - make bicuits and then decorate them?

Thanks for coming back. Not for 40. There's a small kitchen with a bit of a dodgy oven. Unfortunately, unless they're in very small groups of 4 - 6 the mess becomes overwhelming (why can they be tidy in small groups, and unbelievably untidy in large groups!!). We've iced biscuits before, and it took us literally 3 hours to clean the hall afterwards!!
